I know what you are saying, I know many girls who have had abortions and opted to adopt their bay out to loving homes and the few that chose to keep their babies. That was in high school and I could only imagine what any of these choice have done to them. They are all hard choices and they are all worthy of something!

    Synnen, How are you doing?

I wish we all had the option to have animated avatars here it would be so much more interesting.

You know how I feel about the adoption and teenagers having babies. Hopefully everything works out for the best in each situation. The concern of course needs to be about the baby.

Oh, I know it needs to be about the child. I just get frustrated at the people just blithely throwing the suggestion out that as if that's the best case scenario every single time.

It's like automatically throwing "Oh, you can always adopt" at an infertile couple. Or "He's in a better place" when someone dies. It's like... these pat answers that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the situation at hand, or the very real people involved, and it always just seems terribly insensitive to me.

I am guilty of doing that synnen, but you already know that. Guess we all have our different thoughts and opinions. It is defiantly a very sensitive issue. I agree.

Well I am going to try to take a rest considering I have hardly got any sleep at all. 2 hours I think. So I am off for a nappy.

Synnen, stay strong. Always stand up for what you think is right.

Anytime, I will try my best to get some sleep. Lol

I will defiantly give hugs to Proud and Joshua for you.

    Bye for now.

Synn, let me ask you... What is wrong with saying "he's in a better place?" Not to start a real discussion here, but that is exactly where my father is. Watching him suffer terribly those last few weeks was horrendous.

I used to think it was terrible to say that sort of thing, or... "it was a blessing" That was until I saw it happen with my own eyes to someone who I loved and looked up to. He was my hero. Now he is in a better place because, no matter where that place is, he is not suffering any longer.

Actually... I think it is ENTIRELY appropriate in SOME cases. My grandmother died from Alzheimer's (or rather, complications relating to it), and it WAS a blessing, and a relief when she died, and she was definitely in a better place.

What I object to is people using those phrases as stock answers, regardless the circumstances. While it may be true that a person is in a better place after death... what parent wants to hear that of their young child?

Same thing with the other situations. While in some (and perhaps MANY) of the situations, those answers work well, in some cases it just rubs wrong.

I'm just crabby today, and it's a touchy subject for me. Don't mind me. I just needed to rant for a minute. I'm better now. No... really... you can put the straightjacket away... ahhhhhhhh

I get to miss my daughter for another 4 days. She is heading to the beach. I think I will put myself in her bag and go with!! I need more coffee, I have foster boys, my own kids summer company coming and my house won't stay CLEAN!! I am happy though!

Awww, I was the youngest out of four. I was always in trouble but my oldest brother always took real good care of me. Still does if I need it.
I guess so, but " I like clean floors and I cannot lie....!!!" (I like big butts and I cannot lie) Sounded the same so I sang it in my head!

When a floor shines up and glitters in your face you get FUN!

What do you think the people that ask "what pill is this" are really up to? Are they scouring Grandma's pill boxes looking to get loaded?
  • Jul 2, 2007, 01:21 PM
    startover22
They might be, but I hope not. I have asked what one was because I thought it was a muscle relaxer but wasn't sure and it turned out to be just what I needed... LOL By back was killing me and it was exactly what I thought it was... Some people are just trying to be safe. I would never take anything if I didn't know what it was. Some people are loonies that really like to go through grammas pills and get high...

Lol... only had two pulled this week... got to have three more here pretty soon... This is what happens when you fear the dentist and can't reach your back teeth with the toothbrush cause your mouth is so small... lol... I should have taken better care of them in the first place. Not to mention the havoc four kids do on them during pregnancy. The twins really broke them down... *sigh* oh well they're getting taken care of now.

Hello. I see I missed a lot today. I was a busy girl. Doing an application paper on an interculteral experience right now. I hate writing papers.

Interculteral experience that sounds interesting Al.

As far as the bug talk. I just ate dinner and I come here. Yuck.

LOL it would if we didn't have them here... but I find a tick or two on a daily basis.

Not really all that interesting... at least not the writing. I went and visited our Amish country, which was interesting, but now I have to right in MLA which is not...

EDIT... Didnt mean to double post... I apoligize... please don't lynch me publicly... please:o

    Hello Al,

Sounds great visiting an amish country. I think that would be the best experience.

As far as doing the write up for it I guess that is not the fun part.

Oh Oh, I think I double posted.

Watching Hells Kitchen right now. Talk about heat. Lol

I didn't realize there were Amish living in Kentucky.

Oh it was terribly interesting. I never have been to an amish village before. I had seeen the shops in Berea at times, but this was an entire establishment with homes as well as shops. It was amazing, when we got there we knew we were close as the power lines stopped and didn't run to the houses. Then we started noticing the tracks from the carriages. I love the crafts they make. It is an amazing lifestyle. I have a lot of respect for such devoted people and hard workers.

    Discover Kentucky's Amish Community
This is where we went... still don't understand the website... but I think the government is actually promoting it...

That is very very interesting. Thanks for the link to the website. I think we have amish community in my area too, but I am not sure exactly where it is.
