Oh she will be spoiled. My parents always go nuts. Between them, my friends and other family, I hardly have to spend anything! Woo hoo! Of course I get her stuff to, but I also try to do the traditional winter things, ice skating, hot chocolate, tobogganing, snow men, all the fun stuff you miss out on when you get older ;)

Time alone sounds like a great idea! You will never fully appreciate it until those late night early mornings start. All totally worth it though.

Well I am off to bed. Early morning, oh and E has her Christmas recital tomorrow evening. Last year I bawled.

Did you just change trains JLo or did you hae a chance to see some of Chicago?

We just changed trains. I have gone to Chicago for training so I've seen a little of it, though I'd love to go back for a vacation sometime.

I got snow last night and it made the day perfect. I have been wanting a heavy snow fall so badly. Well of course we had our house closing, then the snow fall came and we went last night and got the most perfect Christmas tree. It was a good darn day. Although the hubby wasn't so sure about the three. I usually pick out a 7 foot one and have to cut off half of it. This year I saw this short fat thing and just wanted it. I don't even need a chair to decorate it and he thinks I am sick. I have never done this before. Its always the biggest on the lot for me. For real.

    Chicago, what a fun town.

I had two trips that way. One for Boot Camp at gorgeous downtown Great Lakes.

And the other was a trip to scenic Schronberg. I left Dallas at four in the morning, worked until 2 A.M. at the customer site, had a 9 A.M. meeting the following morning and was on the plane home by 3 P.M.

I think I may have missed a few site while I was there.

Ok, I thought that the Great Lakes Base was only Coast Guard. I live here and I didn't know that, thanks,

I believe that the Coast Guard facility is in Southern New Jersey.

Back in '65, Great lakes was the East Coast Navy Training Facility. I don't if that is true any more give all of the base closings over the years.

I was through Chicago once... at three AM on the throughway and I had to stop for gas on the southside. Not an experience I wish to repeat... even if I do believe that was the worst of the worst of that town.

As I know you know, all cities have 'that part of town' Smooth. All other points on the compass including downtown is beautiful, educational, great nightlife, has terrific restaurants and is very interesting.

I lived downtown at Lake Point Tower right at Navy Pier at the lake for 4 years on the 26th floor. I live in the suburbs now, but what I miss most is that fantastic view, especially at night.

Thank you bear. I have not tried it on chicken legs. But I am sure it would work. The more the sauce and the longer it bakes the better.

Finished my first week at the new job. The only bad day was Wednesday. Each day is a bit better. Not easier, but better. I am going to be one darn busy girl.

Looks good, I might tone it down a bit and not have it too hot, so you pour the sauce over the chicken in a pan before it goes in the oven and let it soak in at the chicken cooks?

Don't worry too much about Wednesday being a bad day, if each day is getting better doesn't that automatically mean its getting easier :)

There is a lot of sauce and that's how I like it. I pour it over, bake it forever. But I keep pulling it out and spooning the sauce over the top. Stir it up. You maybe don't need as much molasses either. Sometimes I make it real dark brown other times I don't. But its so good. I have noticed with my wings I do let them bake until I stir them up and the meat is falling right off. I hope you try it and it turns out.

You ever notice chicken is like hamburg? You can do 101 things with it and its cheap to buy.

Ill have to find out what 'mole asses' are first :D

Its not cheap here, well, not on my budget anyway :)

As for doing lots of different things cooking wise I'm only really just starting with chicken as I wasn't one for making myself properly cooked meals :o but I want to learn :)

I've been defrosting the chicker puncturing holes in it then massaging barbecue sauce in cooking it for a while then massaging in some more sauce, tastes great :)

You really only need to learn a few dishes to impress. Learn to grill a steak or chicken, bake a potato, make a salad - add wine - and you're (ummm... so many ways I could end this) good.

While that may be true, it is a lot easier because you and sunny are both to kind to me :)

But yeah ill keep trying different things every now and then while 'trying' to cook :)

Of course I could probably do with challenging my tastes which will allow me to try out different dishes

There are lots of kind girls. :)

I started cooking with just a few dishes I would serve others and experimented on myself until I felt comfortable with what I was doing. Now, I'll cook anything and feel comfortable. It just takes time. When it comes to impressing girls, though, anything grilled is great.

Hmmm that's a good plan, maybe if I manage to get home for christmas I could cook some meals for my family. I know I'm not going to become gordon ramsey over night but learning to cook myself and others some properly handmade dishes would be brilliant :)

'grilled is great' I'll remember that :D
