I don't mind snakes either. They aren't the slimy creatures some people think they are. You get a better feel for them by handling the larger ones.

I would much prefer a snake over a spider. Especially here in Canada where we have no poisonous snakes! I just can't stand the smell of snakes.
Aurora :O you get close enough to smell snakes?? I stay far away from them so I don't even know if they smell
Heheh yea, I just picked up a garder snake the other day at the camp to show E, boy he stunk something bad!
Garder snakes release that smell to ward off things, If you are gentle and have that touch, you can hold one without it smelling up the place!
Copperheads have a good smell, cucumber-ish to me.
I love snakes. They are such fascinating creatures.
As a child I used to find garder snakes, black snakes, and copper heads and hold them. (I realize now as I'm older the copperheads were not such a good idea, but I never once got bitten)
There was this beautiful black snake in my grandmother's basement one day, had to be at least 4ft long. He was huge and so pretty. I was the only one willing to get it out of the basement. Funny actually seeing as how I was a 12 year old girl surrounded by middle aged adults, including 2 men.
Thanks for sharing, lyra. Yes, snakes do not scare me either, of course, being a lot older then you and wiser probably, I pick the ones I want to hold, but basically the larger snakes are just lovely to hold and actually quite gentle. They know their strengths and can 'feel' your compatibility.

Lyra, could not even guess, no guidelines. I am almost 70 though.
Tick
Tick! I thought you were like 50 :o I still love you, maybe a bit more now :)
You're 70, I would've guessed 40.
Ohh Lyra, now you're just trying to make me look bad! :p
Can I say 30? Lol
Here's a new-ish pic.
Can't believe how much Cedric has grown.
Ohhhhhhhhhh.MG! He is so cute! Now that is a "woe is me" kind of face!
He's pure evil is that dog LOL You wouldn't think it to look at him but he's bloody naughty :D
Here's one of him at 5 months... he is 8 months in the photo above.
That's a heck of a growth spurt.
Aww Cedric look so sad :) I know it's not their real feeling, but I can't help feeling that way lol.
Otherwise, I think that Cyrus needs a new hair cut :p
I know what you mean Unky, he always looks miserable even when he's playing!
Haha Cyrus always has his hair covering his eyes, it's a wonder he can see.
I love him! He reminds me of Droopy.
Shaz, Cedric is starting to look so grown up. Cyrus is still so adorable. How are Prada and Brody doing?

They're looking really good Tomder, just maybe they should learn to look at the camera when they are being shot ;)
Cute pooches!
Great photos!
Well here's an updated one of Lady and Fischer. My little trouble maker is coming along quite nicely. He's being such a good boy. Poor guy has a slipped growth plate, his front paw pretty much turns directly to the left. Looks so painful, but he doesn't seem to mind. Vet hopes we won't have to do surgery.
OOooh I just went through this whole tread page by page! So many cute animals here :)
I forgot almost about the pets I used to have (Camille was rehomed to a friend's, Phoenix now lives with an elderly woman, and Hunter has passed).
In September of 2010 I brought home an 8 week old orange kitten whom I named Char. He's a good boy and such a loving cat. Even after neutering him he still loved me! He plays fetch with his toy mice and loves to sleep with me.
Two weeks ago I brought home Axel, a Blue Heeler Belgian Malinois mix, who is now at 10 weeks of age. He too is a good boy and is very loving.
Adorable! I was browsing these earlier too! I should post mine... wonder if I can find some pics...

Sienna as a baby - She is now about 6 months older, and 6 times larger. LOL. VERY lovable, and will NOT be denied attention. I found her with her litter mates on an old farm in the freezing cold. One of her brothers had frozen to death already. :( Sienna was the only one we kept, but the others all found good homes too.

Our Hound, Fudge. He is 1, and also a rescue. He's a lot bigger than he looks. He will eat anything. ANYTHING. And isn't the sharpest tool in the box... but super loyal and very protective of his sister.

This is my Zero. He is an old soul in a 3 year old nervous little body. He suffers greatly from little dog syndrome, but will run and hide quicker than lightning. I rescued him after his owner died, and although they called him a rat-terrier, I think he is more min-pin/chi. He is incredibly smart, and I have trained him to dance, hulahoop, spin, backflip and die dramatically. (it's hilarious)
I also have two zebra finches (oliver and Elliott) but I never can get their pics.
I used to have two cats, Enyo and Freyja but they needed to become barn cats, and so now they live with a good friend in the country and are very fat on mice.

I also had a stubborn foxhound named Hops, but he chose to live with his dad, my ex. I hear he is old, fat and lazy. :)
I give up... the pics... sigh. If you open them in a new window they work.
OMG SO DARN CUTE ANGEL!! :) SIENNA AND THE KITTIES ARE MY FAVIES!
EEek! Super cute!
I took the kiddos to the park after R finished school :)
Axel loves to play in the sand, digs his little face in it, digs holes, rolls around, barks at it-- super cute!
Rach and Axel also play hide N seek-- he's getting pretty good at it! You can see her hiding behind the tree in the photo and his little heart butt (the tan hairs around his butt make the shape of a heart-- so cute and funny).
Ohh I love those kitty pics, and I am not a cat person! Hahah. Love the pics!
Awww he is adorable! I love the heart butt. Ours all have the butt-taches... they look like little twirly mustaches around their hole. LMAO.
Thanks! I have a passion for photography, and a reaally awesome camera that makes me look like I'm better at it than I am. :DQuote:

I have two new photos of Axel :)
They were taken today at the park.
Right now he's at 11 weeks-- he's such a good boy.

Update on Lady and Fischer! I know Alty is going to come and blast us with cuteness on her new babykins, so I thought I would get these in now! Lol Love you Alty ;)
OMG I love Axel's ear! He has grown so much!
WOW! Great looking babies guys and beautiful pictures :)
I actually couldn't find this thread anymore. Thanks for the link Bella.
Now, on to posting a few things to make you all say awwww.

Ah... some of you may not want to look. One of my tarantulas (B. smithi/Red Knee) molted yesterday and I was able to get some pics of it so I decided to share with all of you! Consider yourselves lucky!!
I have video as well but don't have a clue where to put it... or if you'd even want to see it.
Look away! Look away!!
