I know it is coming up fast but any ideas on a first baby's birthday? I like to keep in nice and simple myself but who knows.

I didn't really do anything special for either of my kids first birthday. I just stripped them down to their diapers and put the cake in front of them. I have photos of both of them with cake all over and a big smile.

Nope we don't do showers of any kind except the wet sort in the bathroom or the rain ;)

Joe all we did was have a special day together take him to the zoo or something you wouldn't normally do, this year though its tea partys all round with friends the day after her birthday and another with family on the Sunday after her actual birthday will be spent with just us and hopefully a visit to the sea life centre.

Thanks CBW, Well soon we are going and I think they are going to do something for him when we get there. It will be completely new and different for him. Tomorrow prouds family were invited to come but no one is letting us know who is coming or not. Just as well. I would rather them stay away. Lol

Em, That is what I was thinking. Birthday cake and lots of pictures and a few new toys.

Save your money JH for when they ask you for a party at Chuck E Cheese or the Jumping Monkey. At one, they don't even know it is their birthday!

Hello all. Well rested. Starting to calm down a bit now. I'm really liking the new job, the time just flies by, well except for last night, but that was just because I was a zombie :D. Had to take connor to the eye doctor today, good news is his vision has improved (yay) bad news is that his nerve leading from the brain to the eye is pushing into the eye, which can be a result of his near sightedness or the result of a mass in his brain... we have to have a MRI now in 6 weeks... im very nervous, even if the doctor is pretty positive it's the nearsightendness. Hope you all have wonderful weekends!

Awe.. CBW that is so cute! Is dink a 'maine coon'?

I just noticed the cat in the upper right.. my daughter's cat Simba looked exactly like that. He died on the 21st and we buried him in the backyard. Rudi (my BF) engraved a metal sign and attached it to the borderstone at Simba's head. Simba weighed 13 Kilos (approx 20 lbs I think) We were able to stay with him the whole time until he passed on. On that day, I really enveyed him.. no more pain, at peace.

Hate to butt into your dialogue, but I think I remember from one of Sarai's threads that you all were from Canada. I have an interesting question for you... There is a blog out there that indicates that half of all Canadians hate Americans and that you all are raised that Americans are selfish and ignorant and we care nothing about other countries... quite frankly, is this true?

I find it hard to believe, but I thought I would ask the experts to be sure.

"Jack the Ripper" is the popular name given to a serial killer who killed a number of prostitutes in the East End of London in 1888. The name originates from a letter written by someone who claimed to be the killer published at the time of the murders. The killings took place within a mile area and involved the districts of Whitechapel, Spitalfields, Aldgate, and the City of London proper. He was also called the Whitechapel Murderer and "Leather Apron."
He couldn't sleep either. Finally, the lack of sleep drove him insane.

I know. When I read that girl's post... I was just a little bit agitated. I certainly don't think that other countries are inferior... nor was I taught to think that way. I think other countries are fascinating. That is why I wanted to get your take on it.

So you are from the UK? That is so neat. I have always wanted to visit there. What is your favorite part of the UK?
  • Sep 29, 2007, 08:38 PM
    curlybenswife
The south is my favourite part I don't really have a favourite part its all good as far as I'm concerned although there are some places no one should ever visit lol

As for the young lady's statements I think it is probably one of those times that you click report and let someone else deal with hunn.

But by doing that, am I saying that she doesn't have the right to voice her opinion... as ignorant as it may be?
