I know what you mean RPG..
The first computer I worked with was the MTST from IBM (Magnetic tape selectric typewriter) It worked with tapes the size of VHS and was so loud I got a seperate room for the darned thing. I was the only one they sent to school for in the entire hospital, when I came back I had to train others.
Then, when they came up with PCs for home use, boy did I go crazy.. learned everything from then on all by myself and did not let on or they would have used me to teach for free again. I did come up with some neat forms that are still being used - but I never got paid for them. It was the need to beat a challenge in me that still is here, that's why I'm testing Windows Vista even though I don't really need it and have four other computers collecting dust right now. And since I cannot work anymore, I have found other things to do such as creating tilesets for the Kyodai Mahjong game and graphics for the Jigs@w Puzzle application - which is the greatest jigsaw puzzle on the market. I also collect other graphics and make coloring books out of them into PDF format and send them off to anyone who wants them.
When I worked I created timesheets for doctors with exell and they are being used in all military hospitals - and I didn't get paid for those either - dumb me, I did not patent them and someone else took the credit. But at least the doctors who first used them know who they originated from and conveyed their appreciation to me.
Now, I just stay at home and play here and there, spend time with you guys and my family. I'm pretty content without much stress right now and that's just what I need.
I sure hope you like your job and meet some cool people, that was always nice for me while I worked and studied.
TTFN.
