I visited Illinois years ago and I found it to be one of the cleanest states I have ever seen.

I grew up in Melrose Park, Northbrook and Evanston. Worked downtown at Water Tower for many years. It is a great City.

I lived there for four years back in the late 70's.

Now now, throwing out tick granules for guests is a very welcoming gesture! If you don't want guests to stay around, you don't mow the yard, let the ticks get "real thick", borrow a few of the neighbors hound dogs to keep on the porch (to add to the tick population). Nothing will get rid of an unwanted guest faster than having 200-300 seed ticks crawling up their leg en masse. Picture a small, bloodthirsty army that won't come off your body unless you have a good roll of duct tape handy!

Tick granules also kill chiggers. Whole other conversation.

That's a little more frightening than the chispider, huh?
