Bye Starby, good luck with the shovelling, in April. RAH!

Sneezy, I can see that you are online, are you hiding. Don't let the pink and the lace scare you, we've got T & A for you boys. ;)

M, are you hiding in your corner?

Yep unfortunately have to retreat to my corner for a while... I hate when work interferes with fun :-)

Back later all! Sneezy sort these ladies out before this place resembles a ladies club.

Bye M, don't forget the football dear.

I'll leave the mens room for you blokes to decorate.

Unless someone stops me and Starby the rest is going to be girlie. Come and stop me, anyone, come on. ;)

CRAP! I was caught. Must change my status so that you can't see me on.

I'm at the library... "trying" to do some work, yet failing miserably.

My weekend highlights? I went to a bar, met some nice people, met this kid whose parents are very well off... he owns a high rise condo in downtown atl with the view of the atl skyline.. . the price of the condo rivaled the price of my parents' house. Yikes.

I'll probably be here for the next few hours. Keep it clean!

Clean is my middle name, no worries. Oops, I fibbed, did you notice?

Sneezy, you can run but you can't hide, I know all and see all, after all I have kids. ;)

I've got to go soon, make supper, bathe rug rats, read stories, drink beer, etc. etc. ;)

I'll be here for a few more minutes though, so dish out some details of your weekend, mine was not at all thrilling, too much snow!

Well, OK then. Let me make this lively.

Thursday night, I went out on a date with hot but independent girl (you can read about it on my "I am doing NC" thread). Things went well, but still unsure.

Friday night, I met up with a buddy of mine, we just hung out at his place, catching up on the week, talking about the market (... apparently we're 40), and throwing back a few beers. Around 2am, we decide to go out to a diner to grab some food... we end up going to a restaurant in a hotel on a whim. Two guys... 2am... restaurant in a hotel. Yeah... it was weird. Regardless, I consider this kid to be one of my best friends, so we had a great time.

Saturday, I went home and had lunch with my parents (I do this once a week), then I dropped my brother off at a birthday party, came home, took a small nap, and then went over to that same guy's apartment, where we called a few people over, and again, just hung out. We head over to a neighborhood bar, where he sets me up with this girl... you can read about it here, post #1473

    https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/lounge...99200-148.html

Then we head over to another guy's apartment... the high rise condo. We get back around 330am, and I go to sleep (sorta). Woke up this morn, did NOTHING. Sat around... did a little bit of work... and sat around some more.

... that's it for me. Yep.

Wow, you sure do get allot done in a short amount of time. Sounds like you had fun.

    Here's my weekend.
    - Sleep
    - cook
    - clean
    - laundry
    - gauge out eye (almost)
    - heat packs on eye
    - drops in eye
    - considering going to the hospital because of the eye, too much snow outside, hospital out of the question.
    - eye doctor calls to confirm appointment and says that I should be okay unless I think I'm not (I'm not a doctor, how am I supposed to know if I'm okay or not, that's her job!),
    - more cooking
    - more cleaning
    - playing with the kids
    - relaxing bath in the jacuzzi tub
    - and the best thing, chatting on AMHD and getting myself into trouble.

Phew, I guess I was busy too. ;)

    Yay May 2.

I'm looking forward to Mother's Day, I hope they actually remember this year. ;)

I'm going to go cook some dinner now. Spaghetti, hubbies favorite. I'll talk to you later Sneezy sweetie. Take care, work hard and be good, I'm watching. ;)

But the tissue coming out of the nose is a classic, love it.

I started decorating Starby, do you like the pink flowers, pink lace wallpaper and the pink kleenex?

    True true... lol

I just got an update about my cousin and his wife. My cousin is at home now, but he's not allowed to bring his children home, and he is kind of on an outpatient basis. His wife is still on life support, and they figure if she does come out of this, it will take months or maybe even yrs for her to recover. So sad! The Dr.'s still can't pinpoint the virus from what I've heard.

My parents have made it to Fargo, but apparently this storm has hit hard in Great Falls... where they are crossing the border at Sweet Grass, so they will probably have to hole up somewhere in Great Falls for a few days. At least I hope they have the sense to do that!

I'm so sorry to hear about your family, I hope that everything works out okay. How old are their kids? Where are they staying until this over? They are in my prayers Starby, I hope that they get better.
  • Apr 20, 2008, 09:01 PM
    starbuck8
Their kids are 3 and 5 I believe. They are staying with their grandparents. I don't understand why the Dr.'s can't find out what is causing this.

    Thank you for your prayers!
  • Apr 20, 2008, 09:05 PM
    Alty
It doesn't make sense, usually the doctors have some idea, especially because they've been there for some time now. This is scary, the fact that she's on life support means it's obviously taking over her entire body, I don't know why it's so hard to diagnose. I hope they find out soon and that she gets the proper treatment. How is her husband doing now that he's home? I find that strange too, how do they know he isn't contagious if they don't know what he has? I would think that keeping him in the hospital would be a better idea. I'll be praying for them, like I said. Keep us posted Starby and stay strong, we're here if you need us okay?
  • Apr 20, 2008, 09:06 PM

I'll say a prayer for them also Starby... I wish them well.

Exactly Alty, I don't know why they have let him go home if they don't know what this virus is. Doesn't make much sense to me. But I'm just getting bits and pieces of info right now. So maybe there is a little more to it... who knows eh?

Where do they live? Are they in Canada also?

In a little town in Sask. (Leader) They are at the University of Saskatoon Hosp.

Well then they are in good hands. I'm sure that it's just that you aren't being told the whole story. Just keep your chin up and hope for the best sweetie.

Would you like a beer? I'm having one, I hate drinking alone. ;)

    starbuck8
Serve it up girl! ;) Nothing else to do... can't go outside, lol. Ohhhh, and hey, just how much snow do you have? I'm just talking to my Aunt who is in Edm, and she says they only have about 6". If that's all you have too, I'm giving you a big noogie!

HA, I stuck my last couple beer in the freezer because they were a bit warm, and then forgot about them for awhile... uhmmm, they aren't warm anymore, lol

    Are you having a beersicle?

We got around 8 inches or even more and it's still snowing. I'll need a horse drawn sled to get the kids to school tomorrow. I hate Snow!

Hey, where's Sneezy, I can see he's online, is he avoiding the kleenex box?

Sorry, running around answering other questions.

I really got to get that USER ONLINE thing off.

I've done barely any work tonight, but it's OK as I can afford it... I got plenty of time tomorrow.

    How's everyone doing?

Starby: I have a feeling that your cousin is OK enough to go home... although that IS weird that he's allowed back home but not allowed to be with his kids.

I found that strange too. I know that when my dad had shingles he wasn't allowed to come near me because I was 8 months pregnant, but that was for the babies sake, not mine. I doubt it's something as simple as shingles, the doctors would have diagnosed that very quickly, but I'm curious to know what it actually is. Curiosity killed the cat. MEOW!

We have got at least a foot and a half so far, and it's still coming down like crazy! This is more snow than we had all winter long! I heard from a friend of mine that works in emerg at the hosp. that the waiting rm is full of people that are having chest pains from trying to shovel their walks because it is so wet and heavy. My parents friend died a few yrs ago while out shoveling snow. Just dropped dead right there on the sidewalk.

Yes, beersickle it is, lol... everything else is frozen... why not?

Maybe Sneezy doesn't like our decorating and is scared to come in! LOL

    ::looks around::

I think you guys did a great job!

... but what do I know about decorating? Currently, my walls have...

    1. scheduled calendar
    2. 6 framed art work all done by my friends... beautiful pieces
    3. gumball dispensing frame.
    4. bulletin board with cards/messages/small things attached to it
    5. quote board
6.. . as geeky as this sounds, jeopardy style medical facts.

What, no pink Sneezy, everyone needs something pink. Do you have any pepto Bismal? ;)

Well, people with chest pains from shovelling snow, that's the straw that broke the camels back, I am definitely not shovelling, I'll wait until it melts all on its own, yup, that's what I'm going to do, so there snow, stick that in your pipe and smoke it, HUH! Wow, that felt good, Starby you should try it. ;)

    Shoveling... snow?

... sorry, I've never done it.

You've never shovelled snow? I am officially inviting you to spend next Christmas with my family and me. I can promise you this; snow, a tree, lights, kids, presents, turkey, stuffing and shovelling, plenty of it, all for you. ;)

I did my best with the teen, I was dying to tell her that her post was extremely hard on the peepers, what's with the rainbow colors? Yikes, kids and their creativity. ;)

Haha, yeah... whenever I see those, I automatically assume... that she's around 13 - 15.

I've never shoveled snow in my life. I've lived in New Jersey, Florida, and atlanta... and when I was in New Jersey, we lived in an apartment complex, so no need to shovel there.

Ooh christmas in canada?. too cold?
