No Jesus did die but in his human body. But since he is God he overcomes death and resurrects... does that answer your question? Or did I just make you more lost??

I don't understand how he died for our sins if he didn't really die.
He died for our sins in his earthly/human form but not in the form of the spirit who has eternal life. There is a death of the human form but not of the spiritual for those who believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins.Quote:

But he didn't die in his human form, he came back to life. This is the part I don't understand.
He didn't die for our sins, he "gave up life for a few days" for our sins.
Hardly a mighty sacrifice.
Were you not listening to my post? I said that he died for out sins in his human form as follows: "He died for our sins in his earthly/human form but not in the form of the spirit who has eternal life. There is a death of the human form but not of the spiritual for those who believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins."Quote:

But he was resurrected in his human form, right? So he died for a few days at most, for our sins. That doesn't particularly impress me.
OK, so he dies on the cross in a human form, 3 days later when he rose again, what form was he in?
I had a relationship with Jesus once. It didn't work out. He spent way too much of his time putting everyone else's needs above mine. He just couldn't give me the attention and commitment I needed at the time. *sigh*Quote:

Mate apologies if I sound like I am making this a joke, but I am not, I am just trying to understand what it said in the Bible. Nobody seems to want to address the issue that I bring up about how rubbish a sacrifice Jesus made for our sins.
The fact that you are all avoiding it are just making me think I am right, this is not what I want, I just want to understand.
Dear Capuchin,
What is your opinion as to how mankind came to be? And, what is your opinion of the Bible? Just open questions. Please answer in general what you think.
You may not receive a reply from me this evening, as I live in the central United States. But, I would appreciate an answer and I will respond.
I believe that mankind is another step along the evolutionary chain. I believe the Bible is a work of fiction, and the NT is based around a person living at that time, Jesus.
Dear Capuchin,
I am still up, but not for long. Two more questions: Why do you believe in evolution? And, why do you believe that the Bible is a work of fiction? If you don't mind, I would appreciate it if you would provide some facts to support your answers. Credence must have some method of validation, don't you agree?
Of course, evolution has been proven to be a true model by hundreds of years of observation and evidence, the most clear place to see this is in hospitals. New superbugs that are resistant to current drugs that should destroy them are created all the time through evolution. Nearly all aspects of a being can be attributed to a reason why it was more useful for that being to have that aspect.
I believe the Bible is fiction because a number of unsourced, unsubstantiated and unexplainable events are described in the book. There is no evidence (that I have seen) to suggest that the Bible is anything but just a book.
Maybe you could give some examples of these so called unexplanable events and we could discuss them??
Thank you avenger9000 for replying.
Now, I really need to get to bed!
This debate is far from over!
Thank you Capuchin for your answers. I am sure that you will do better next time. Please provide some facts as to how beings that you refer to came to be, not just why.
But, thank you for answering my questions as best you could, for the time being.
Feeding of 5000 and 4000, Walking on water, Cursing of the fig tree, Raising of Lazarus, water into wine.
Sorry Clough, I don't understand what you're asking of me :)
