Humble Pie, ZZ Top, The Rolling Stones.

1972 in San Diego's Sports Arena while waiting for the Stones, people started climbing up the parking lot light poles and bending them over. When security would come after them, they would chase security out onto the street. I knew right then I had found my tribe!

    Skideep, Skideep, Skideep, Aye!

Holy cow, what a blast from the past. I saw Eek A Mouse at a reggaefest.

I'm so-so on their style. The fest I was at with them was a pretty heavy one that included the likes of Black Uruhu and other heavies that I'm not really into.

I love the stuff you can whistle/hum/sing along to instead.

Yeah, they wre pretty cool. I was into them for a little while there. That was an interesting time in my life... part of the "Dark Ages." Don't really remember a whole lot from then lol

    Rick.In reference to Crimson,the line-up I saw was:

    David Cross: VIOLIN, VIOLA, MELLOTRON
Robert Fripp: GUITAR, MELLOTRON & DEVICES
    John Wetton: BASS & VOCALS
    Bill Bruford: DRUMS
    Jamie Muir: PERCUSSIONS & ALLSORTS.

I saw them at my local Town Hall, would you believe. It was then very small, and only held about 400 people, but the accustics of the place was amazing.I was deaf for days after the concert.

I don't remember for sure, but I think Pete Sinfield left them before my concert-going days.

Court of the Crimson King is a classic for sure.

    Picture it 1984 SummerFest (milwaukee,wisconsin).

It's summer. It's hot. I forgot who the opening act was but after they were done the crowd goes wild, finally New Edition is coming to the stage.

Here they come, BAM!! I'm pressed up against the fence as the crowd goes to the left. I can't move, I can hardly breath because of the humidity.

    I panic:eek:

I look back and yell for my sister who was swepted up in the crowd(still pushing and moving to the left to get a better view of the stage). All I see is the top her hand sticking out of the crowd yelling my name as the crowd sweeps her away.

    I panic:eek:

I start to climb the fence and get to the top screaming. Next a girl is pulling on my pant leg "Get down I can't see!!!" " I can't see!!!"

I'm looking back down at her yelling NO! No!!

A security guard picks me up over the fence as I go over the fence one of my brand new white canvas Keds get stuck in the fence.

"Would you like some oxygen??" the security gard ask me. I decline. My shoe? Where is my shoe? Where is my sister? I just sat there.

Later on it's dark, I finally find my sister "What a great concert!!"

Went back to the fence to find my shoe all trampled on. I put it on. Now it looks like I have one white shoe and one black shoe.

What a night! Didn't see the concert and ended up with a messed up shoe.

That was my first concert and that was my last concert!! Haven't been back since. LOL!!

My sister has been to many since then.

Till this day when I see a concert, a stadium full of people are start to fan myself. I can still feel the humidity.

    THE END

First concert was as a kid w parents - Kenny Rogers with Gallager opening. How's that for a first concert?

Several small time I-forget-their-names-bands and summer bring in a bunch of bands concerts.

Melissa etheridge, free concert in st louis before she was really big (man she works hard)

    Black crowes

(by the way, bruce springsteen was #4... another entertainer that works his a$$ off on stage. The man dances with his guitar like it's a lover he intends to take home soon.)

Some of the very best "concerts" I see are the live blues sessions at a local dive... but when you get a real quality entertainer like etheridge or springsteen, they raise the bar so very high its just hard to compare.

These were not my first concerts by any means, but I have seen Journey (spent the night out in front of the auditorium to get tickets) and Boston. Both were fantastic.

I took my daughter to see Kiss two years ago. Bad Mom, Bad Mom... really it was kid friendly, there were so many more kids there than I ever expected.

I went to see the Flaming Lips last weekend... and I have to say, it was one of the greatest shows I had ever seen! I definitely recommend anyone to see them live!

My first concerts were the mega group Earth Wind and Fire, an opera that was in Italian something about some guy that was happy but was crying and a fusion jazz set in Chicago. All this before I was twenty –one… which explains my diversity with music…

I saw Madonna too about 5 years ago in Elms Court, London, England.
She does now how to hold a show, doesn't she?
