I've 'borrowed' them, after all there is nothing new in IT

My avatar, installed (pre xmas),is symbolic of my activities over the festive period.Like Ben,my previous two avatars, reflected my mood.My forum name is taken from "Neil",my real christian name.My niece, and nephew always call me Nez.Uncle is a no-no! Yes,Neil would be easier, but I don't mind.Kids today. So there you have it

    Nice one Nez..
Surprisingly enough I don't like being called Uncle for the obvious reason ;)

    Chery
My name is shortened from my actual name which is Cheryon, my avatar is a picture of my main man, Larry, who is more of a lapdog than a cat - which I will change now and then. Nothing exciting, but I like it. Orange, I love the painting! Have a great one!

My user name came from my best friend. I was venting to her one day about how much stuff I had to get done before the weekend. And she said: "you are one bizygirl". Actually she sais it at (biz-ae-gurl) and it kind of stuck. My last user name for this sight had been "hanabelle" because my name is Hannah and instead of "Annabelle" my dad always called me "Hannahbelle" I miss that user name actually.

Oh haha I like the story of your username, bizygirl! Very original. :)

And thanks Chery about the painting. Like I said before it's one of my favorites and I enjoy looking at it when I come here. I don't own the genuine article anymore, since it was a gift to a friend, and she lives in another province.

Thanks Orange, I love your painting also. Its very beautiful. Did it take you along time to do it? Hey I have a question, since we are talking about avatars, I tried to use an animated avatar for this site and it said I wasn't allowed (by animated I mean a moving one) but then I see people using moving graphics on their posts! What's the deal-y-o!

The painting took about 6 hours... but that included waiting for various layers of paint to dry. It's a mixed media of acrylic and watercolour and its actual size is 11 x 14 in or 27.9 x 35.5 cm. Actually I did it quite quickly... I was on a roll that day I guess LOL.

Re: your avatar, maybe the animation you uploaded was bigger than 19.5 K ? Because I think that's the maximum size allowed for an avatar on this site. Maybe try again using an animation that you know is less than 19.5k in size.

Guess I should add this to.

I like to be different so instead of my forename followed by the first letter of my surname, I went for the first letter of my forename by my surname. A contraversal move I know.

As for the avatar, I didn't know what to put so it ended up as a picture of Link as I love the Zelda series of games (new one out in a few months)

Well Guys, I've read all the posts and you've told me everything except how to look for one and how to put the damm thing up after I find it.
Hope ya-all had a great holiday. Tom

You know what I did? My avatar is a picture of the lead singer from evanescence that I found on my launch music thing. All you have to do is right click on the picture and then click on save picture as when it pops up. If you log in to the forum you go to your profile and click on edit photo. If you click on browse it will bring up the pictures you have saved and you can click on that picture to use in the forum. When I get a recent picture of myself in here you will see it. Not all of the sites will allow you to get their pics. Some make it impossible. If you right click and don't see a save pic as then id choose another pic.

You do seem to have a little one there, now you just have to keep on finding some pictures on your hard-drive you like, reduce them to the allowed size and keep on trying, as I did. You notice that mine is smaller - I don't know why either, but it took five tries to even get it there. So, I guess practice makes perfect here. Go to your profile again and see if there are instructions on how to change the avatar and how big it's allowed to be. Good Luck.

My username is DJ 'H'. Because I am a Disc Jockey. My actaul name is Holly, but nickname and DJ name is Holz. My avator is a photo of myself. I like people to see for who I really am.

I agree with D'JH, I like people seeing me for who I am. Sometimes id like to think that whoever Im giving advice to can see the person who is helping in some way, and feel more connected.

I know "deep stuff, bizygurl" But I'm just being honest.:p

I'm afraid though if people see me for who I really am, they will be horrified and run away! LOL. Seriously though, very true, bizygurl! I use my artwork as avatars all the time, and I hope that through my drawings and paintings people will see who I am... or at least have an insight into my personality and what's important to me. I'm a bit nervous about posting an actual picture, since this is the internet and I live in a small city and therefore could be easily traced.
