Let's go with ball peen hammer.

... 3am. Time for this little piggy to hit the hay and count the dollar bills.

... I stopped counting sheep. Every time they jumped a fence, a wolf ate them.

I told my nephew that when I took him fishing. That was a jaw-dripping moment for that little guy who had never even roasted a hot dog out side and we did that also, down by the water. :) I had a good one on the line but didn't set the hook good enough and lost that one! As you know, I bought a gsx-r 750 earlier...to my mother's dismay (I don't blame her...she lost her brother when she was younger to a motorcycle accident), then sold it.

I really want a cbr rr 1000...but...I'm not so sure she'll be too happy.

Hey there Sneezy! Rebound effect on the little white pills... actually, went to bed and it was so cold in the house, had to get up and adjust air temp so checked the thread!! My brother had motorcycles most of my life... he is eight years older than I. He rode a big white "Indian Chief". They quit making them for awhile but started up again about five years ago maybe, not sure... anyway... when I was 14, my dad asked me if I would like to have a motorcycle. Are you kiddin' me?? I had been putting a piece of cardboard on my bicycle spokes for years with a clothes pin to make it sound a tiny bit like a bike... LOL Way before your time Mr Sneezy!! Anway... I digress... of course I said a resounding YES!! Dad said a guy had two so let's go look at them and see which one I wanted. The man had taken them in as payment for work done on a man's car. One was a little cushman type and then there was this cute little Honda 50 Sport, five speed, four stroke engine RED and I fell in love with it. Took it right then and there. I learned to ride it in our front lawn then in an 11 acre field across from our house. I would ride from the time I got in from school until dark... rode in the snow, rain, heat, whatever. I was always getting grounded for my "tone of voice" but after I would ride, all my cares would go away and I was a sweet kid. Hardly ever got grounded after that! LOL

I got stopped by cops all the time, "Do you have a license to drive that little girl?" Grrrrhhhh! YEPPER! When the helmet law went into effect here, they had some helmets that were available for purchase through the school. I was one of the first to get one. Rarely wore it. Anyone who rides, knows the feeling of the air through their hair and on their face, can't be compared to wearing a helmet... takes some of the freedom away, however, when I was in college, I did get hit by a truck. My friend riding with me wore my helmet and I did not wear one. I slid down the street on my back, thinking "CHIN TO CHEST" "CHIN TO CHEST"!! My parents were out of town so my brother had to go to the hospital with us... scared them all to death. We both were injured but had my friend not had on my helmet, she could have really been hurt. Her head hit the side of the truck. My foot got messed up, we were sort of in shock. A man came over and gave me his business card, said he had called the cops, and would testify for me if need be as he saw the whole thing. Anyway, had the bike fixed, got a Harley Davidson later but it was not a low rider and just too much bike for me. If you have looked in Member Photos, you have seen my black Rebel! I wanted a Shadow but ended up with the Rebel. It is a good bike for in town but not a good highway bike but I do ride in on the highway. It goes fast enough but just feels like it is going to lift off the ground, especially in a cross wind. (I still have my little Honda Sport-the clutch plate is stuck so not running at the present time). I will clip a pic of me on my little Red Honda... I think I was 16 at the time of this photo... EONS ago just after the dinosaurs roamed the earth!! :p :p :p

(I am very sorry for your mother's loss of her brother. Too many bikers do lose their lives and many times because other driver's think a bike can stop on a dime and don't realize, they need to respect them as much as a car or truck.)

You know, Angel, better known as "The Deputy" is nice enough to allow me to keep the Rebel in my cell... it is sort of like my security blanket!!

Hey there little Starby!! Silly little girl, the cows aren't in the water. The cows are in the pasture land that we see on our way to the lake, river, dam, etc. and the fish are in the water... hmmmm, well, given that it is now 3:45 a.m. and I am not much good after 1:30 a.m. the cows might be in the water and the fish may be grazing in the grass... interesting concept! I might have more luck catching fish in the pasture come to think about it. Hey have you ever gone "noodlin?" You are such a daring young thing, I bet you have. NOT ME!!   My nephews already call Auntie Rebby, "Aunt Phoebe"... if that tells you anything if you have seen reruns of "Friends". LOL I should have never told that secret but maybe by morning all my post will be lost in the rush of morning posts! LOL

Quick Starby, help me catch the cows before they go under the water... they really don't swim very well. Do you have any life jackets big enough for them? What about ducks, where are they, still hiding in trees with scopes?? Hmmmmmmmmmm??

We have funny grass in Oklahoma... I did tell you that story about the college car pool, didn't I? If not, next call... remind me... another one similar to the drug store story. Well, enough of this... right? I will have you laughing so hard you will fall out of that tree! Night night! The house has warmed up a bit so I think I can sleep. I had my can of Mt. Dew so I am nice and sleepy now!!

I loved reading your story Rebby, as I always do! I like your cutie little pose you have on your bike! One hot... well warm... little biker chick! Now you're a Hot Biker Chick! :D

I'm a little scared of bikes myself. Not of the bike, but like you mentioned, the other drivers that don't respect people riding a bike. My Uncle and his (then) wife, were almost killed too on my Dad's Honda, when I was young. They lost the bike on gravel though. It was spring, and the first nice day, and the city hadn't yet cleaned the roads of the gravel they had put down for the ice and snow. They rounded a sharp corner and lost control. My Uncle was in traction in the hospital for six months, and now has steel plates and pins everywhere in his body.

When I was about 15, my sister and I were at the mall, and met up with a friend we knew from school. We noticed him because he was wearing a tux. He had just gotten his Grad Pics taken. We were talking to him, and he took us out to the parking lot to see what his parents had bought him for a graduation present. It was a brand new bike! (not sure, but I think it was also a Honda of some sort) He told me and my sister that he would take us for a ride! Although we both really wanted to go, neither one of us wanted to be left alone standing at the mall. We told Darwin we would take the bus instead, and meet him downtown, because our friends were down there, and then we would each go for a ride. Well we were riding the bus, and all these ambulances and police cars were screaming by us, and we wondered what was going on. We got downtown, and there was Darwin in pieces all over the road. (sorry for the graphics of that) A truck ran a red, and hit him broadside and sent him flying. Dead before he even knew what hit him.

So, I'm a little leary (or should I say scared to death) of bikes for that reason. Two of my ex's (A&N ;) ) had bikes, and would always get ticked off at me because I wouldn't go riding with them. I did once, just around the city with "N", and I was probably more of a danger to him driving, because I was shaking so hard I was distracting him, and squeezing the air out of him. Either that or he was getting really excited because I was shaking so bad the bike was vibrating! LOL!! ;)

So yeah, I'm a liiiittttllle bit terrified of being on a bike! I would like to have the "hair blowin in the wind" feeling... but I opt to be stuck in a fibreglass box with wheels! :p :D

Maybe if we go to "cows r us" in the morn, we can find some reeeeeaaallllyyyy big life jackets for the poor little things. I shop at "Ducks r Us", so I really don't know. I can swim well, so I've never had to buy a life vest. They do have a nice line of sunblock though, since I don't have any feathers left!!

Funny grass? Just what kind of funny grass do you have there? Hmmmm... cows in water... fish in the pasture... pools in cars... hmmmmm... sounds like some funny grass to me! :p

Odd you say that. I have my enduro now but am seriously considering getting a gsx-r or something similar and will have to do a lot of convincing. My mom lost her brother when he was about 23 I think in a motorcycle accident. She didn't want me getting the dirt bike, the street bike will be even tougher.

Wow, you had a horrible experience losing your friend on the bike. I am so sorry. Gosh, I hope my post doesn't make everyone too sad here at the Sanitarium. I guess we all have horror stories and I was fortunate when the truck hit me. The cop told the driver that he was citing him for "failure to yield". The guy said, "I stopped at that stop sign" (maybe he did but he tried to rush across the intersection and there was no time to get stopped with traffic on my left, high curb on the right, just had to turn to the right and hit him sideways or hitting him head one would have probably propelled my friend right over the truck. The bike hooked onto the truck then as he was trying to stop, the bike let go and there I was sliding down the street on my back). The cop told the guy in a very disgusted voice, "You are suppose to wait until there is nothing coming!!!" The guy started to pick up my bike out of the road. Daddy had always told me when in a wreck, never move the vehicle so I holler, "Get your hands off my bike!" :o Well, he did! LOL

One friend of mine ran into a fence, knocked his nose off, another couple from high school missed a curve and he was killed, she was injured but not badly. My sister ran my brother's bike through a barbed wire fence. A guy and my boyfriend lost one on some loose gravel but was not hurt too badly. Man, guess I have been more fortunate than I realize. Not long ago, a guy was doing a wheely at midnight through a light in downtown Tulsa, huge intersection and got hit and killed. Bikes are hard to see anyway sometimes and his light was straight up in the air so even harder to be seen.

One funny story: Just after I had learned to ride the baby Honda, I was so excited and wanting to learn all I could as fast as I could. My brother-in-law said, "Petie (family nickname, let's not let that one stick here though, k?), sit way back on the back of the seat, ok, now pull in the clutch, put it in gear, now reve that engine and let go of the clutch!" Well, trusting soul that I am, listened ever so intently and did just as he said... when I popped the clutch, I was doing a wheely, then slid off the back of the bike and was running behind it trying not to let it crash. So much for trust... at least I was in the front yard, not on gravel. Oh by the way, he is no longer part of our family!! LOL He wasn't trustworthy in more ways than one!

Hope that little funny story lifts some of the sadness. I must be more careful however!! Reading about these stories will make me more cautious. One tends to feel indestructable at times, huh!

    Starty, that was so sweet!!

In answer to your question... ah... no?? LOL

Walking, driving cars, skateboarding, all can be dangerous but bikers do run a risk. When my son comes home and wants to ride the Rebel, he must wear the helmet at all times, his kids have to wear a helmet when he takes them even around the yard on it, and he gets cautions out the wazooooooooooo before he takes off on it. He doesn't ride often which increases his chances of not being aware enough of the dangers.

But I got to tell you, there is so much wonderment that comes to me as I ride and I just see all the beauty of nature along the way in a different light than I do while riding in a car. For me, got to ride that bike!! :p

Lil Bro, good morning, its 8:30 here... ;)
Reb, Jett has a cool battery powered one, and I am sure that it won't be the end, he needs more power! LOL
I love bikes too, just not so good at NOT slamming them into fences, don't laugh, it was fun... (more than once):):) Have a great day out today Reb...
Alty, they grow so fast, I can't feel myself right now, my oldest has a girlfriend, Davy is in Middle school, and starting to really show it! Jett and Max are a year apart but they seem as if they aren't put together... I mean they are so good, so smart, but they do the stupidest things... like take capri suns and step on them, touch stuff they shouldn't, they are so rough with everything, it is great, they are boys. That's fine with me, we live in the country, but it seems as if they need to just STOP, DROP, and THINK... from now on before they get hurt or something, or make mama cry cause she has to many messes to clean up.
I hope you all have a nice day. I am going to need to bake, I feel a bit down for some reason...
Reb, your picture was a nice gift this morning, seriously, I say make it NUMBER ONE here. I loved it, thanks

Thanks Rebbie. Yes, I can't believe that 6 years have gone by since I brought that little bundle home. It seems like just yesterday that I held a newborn Sydney in my arms. She was such a good baby, and a real cutie.

But I gotta tell ya, there is so much wonderment that comes to me as I ride and I just see all the beauty of nature along the way in a different light than I do while riding in a car. For me, gotta ride that bike!!! :p

I know how you feel - I too love riding along as passenger on a bike! Believe it or not, it's less painful to ride the bike than sitting in a car and going around corners - the back actually feels good when I ride. And the scenic routes just still take my breath away. Whether on a horse, bike, scateboard, or anything else - as long as you have fun in your life - do it! If we all just worried about getting hurt, we should never even leave home or get in the shower or bathtub - a lot of accidents can happen there too.
So, the moral is - enjoy life, it's too short, and have fun when you can.

Going to be off more than on for the next few days due to health issue, but will keep in touch.

    Lots of love and hugs!

Hi Momma C! Hope you're doing well!

Hello everyone! My parents just called... they're on the way down to see my apartment. ::gulp::

It's always a bit nerve racking when parents come by... huh?

Got to hide the drinks. The wine too. Parents aren't drinkers... and heavily frown upon it :(

    Did I miss anything?

You see... my parents didn't visit me the entire time I was in college (I was... 30 minutes away)... and now, all of a sudden... they're coming!!
