The clinic I work in closed down yesterday. I told you all about it. Upsetting, it was good money and I was counting on the job until March. R goes back to school in January for his final year and money will be tight, my income would have made it a lot less tight. ;)
Anyway, I thought it was done, over, good bye, no more, sob, cry, waaa!
Today I get an email from my boss saying that two clinics are still open and they're planning on keeping them open through January and February. Afternoons and evenings only. They're doing 2 full days per week at one clinic and two full days per week at the other. So, if I get all the shifts I asked for, which was all the shifts available, I will still be working 4 days a week until the end of February.
Sure it's in Edmonton, a bit more driving, but no biggie. I thought I was done like dinner, I guess not.
Bad thing is that the shifts are being offered to everyone. In other words, all the clinics that closed down, all the staff that worked those clinics, those shifts are being offered to all of us! I probably won't get all the shifts I asked for, but even half would be a great help.
So I may not be unemployed after all. :)
