This may sound funny... We don't have many toys, I mean blocks and lincold logs, tons of books, that sort of thing, there are so many kids in this darn house that they kind of keep each other occupied. Millie may decide to ignore her toys when Theo comes... that is what happened to Grady and Davy... and Jett... Now all three of them can sit on their buns and make lego towns... I just love those nights when they sit there for a couple maybe even a few hours to get it just perfect... I am way off subject but it popped into my head! Hugs...

Millie isn't a player she never has been she is a thinker she loves books and drawing we sit for hours together like that even when we go to groups she sits and watches them all or sits with all the books she isn't interested in noise or animated play she likes doing thoughtfull things she signs all her words as well as speaks them at the moment she is into music and loves to plat with the piano at mimmys so my mum suggested she have her own this is her last birthday on her own we are going to enjoy it and make the most of it I couldn't care less if she never plays with any of it again lol just the enjoyment of the day will be enough.

Lol... Connor is the same, he would rather sit and sing along to his radio or color, but I felt the same as you CBW, it was his last year alone, and I want it to be special..

LOL... I play the piano, so he has been on it since he was old enough to hold his head up. Once I get him trained on his notes and scales, I'm hoping he will pick an instrument he wants to play. My hubby plays sax, and Bass, and I play guitar off and on. The best thing about teaching your child piano, is that once they learn it, they can pick up any other instrument and learn it quickly... I think she will love it.

My hands were never big enough to learn to play anything I couldn't separate my fingers enough so I'm really hoping millie doesn't have the same problem I certainly will be encouraging her with the piano all of bens family are musical.

There are exercises that can improve the finger span... but with a musical family, IM sure she will find her place then... I think music is the best gift we can give our kids, regardless of whether they play it or sing it... or just like to listen... :)

Start - we used to do a christmas of giving handmade gifts... I try to do this still with my siblings...

Yes, but the kids like the bought. I think I am going to do handmade again this year and then Dus and I will have to make a limit for the kids... Thanks.
I got a piano for free on craigslist... it is so cool, all of the kids touch it daily, no lessons yet, but we will see. Max wants to play the guitar, harmnica, or the trumpet. He is four... he is a wonderful singer and he sings with his mom all day!

Awesome! That was a lucky find. I see them come and go on cheapcycle on occasion... we have a keyboard in the basement and my grandmothers piano in storage until I find the right place for it.

This was a mans grandmothers piano, I don't know how we are going to move it this weekend, it took four big ole men to get it in the living room... It is just a small on but dang it is heavy!
