Oooh, I'll write a paper for cookies. I'll get started right now. Hee, hee, I love COOKIES, especially when dipped in coffee. Ah, it's a good day. :)

I've got to run for a bit, or at least walk quickly. I'll talk to you later sweet HC, keep the kleenex box hopping, maybe you'll get a visit from the young newbie, that should keep you on your toes. :) ;)

Morning or afternoon or whatever it is out there right now... lol

How is everyone this morning? Full of coffee? :)

Oh... and I saw that comment about 'we're all princesses'... I hardly think that's fair... heh

Would you like to be Knighted, Resty? :)

That would be much better, thank you. Lol.

I'll be the charcoal knight. That way I'm not exactly dark, but I can still have my moments, lol.

I, the Princess of Positivity, Knight thee, Sir Resty, as the Charcoal Knight of the Kleenex Realm. Go; may the sun always shine upon thy head.

That almost makes me want to start roleplaying. I'm such a geek/nerd/whateveryouwannacallit, yet I've never played DnD. Some day, some day... lol

How are things around the realm? I tend to drift in and out around here, heh.

Never played any roleplaying games, but I'm really really wanting to. Sadly, those I know (ahem... Synn) are waaaay too far to play with me - I'd like to do the paper (is that what you call it? Not computer) ones.

That's all just in my head... I'm a Shakespearean dreamer... still waiting for that White Knight! ;)

Tabletop, actually. That's what I meant, too. I'll be the white knight this winter, lol. I'm sure when the snow hits and I get my skis out for the first time, I'll be full of snow.

Lol... not exactly the "white knight" I was talking about... :D

But skiing IS fun. Growing up in MI and Upstate NY, I loved to ski. And sled. And build forts. Lol... anything snow. :)

Pretty much, heh. I've been aroudn Grand Rapids my whole life, so I'm pretty used to it by now.

NY huh... I've been wanting to go there lately. I have a friend in Misosuri who said it's a lot of fun. Of course, I usually just trek to Chicago instead, since it's only a 2-3 hour drive :)

Definitely want to get out of Michigan and go somewhere that's a little warmer throughout the year though. Florida would be nice... but it's kind of humid. CA is probably too cold in the winter... I was thinking Arizona or Texas, woo. GA wouldn't be bad either, or NM. I guess it just depends on where I can find a good job.

Is it nice and warm around NY? We've been getting awesome weather lately.

Oh, I'm not in NY now... that was, oh, 5 states and a country ago! I moved around a lot and then went overseas after college. I'm in TN now.

I liked NY. Lived about 2 hours from Niagra Falls, beautiful country.

TN is absolutely, positively gorgeous these days. Spring has sprung and the sun is absolutely wonderful. Picnic weather galore! :)

Oh my... a lot happens while I'm gone.

Yes, paper is done. Turned it in this morning. Currently at the school's coffee shop watching CNN's coverage of $4 a gallon gas in san francisco. Yikes. Thank god I drive a tiny car.

HC: I've caught you in a lie. You DO play role playing games. Remember that time we... ;)

I have about 10 minutes before I have to go cut some thin sections of bone... in search of syphilis. Syph... where are you?

Sneezy!! I wasn't talking those kind of role playing games... I graciously avoided mentioning that time... saving you... ;) Got your best interest at heart, sweetie...

Mmm, burger king. Unfortunately when the other two people who are here today found out I was going out, I ended up having to pick up food for everyone else :)

Oooo... wow... a Whopper really sounds good...

    Darn it, Resty... lol.

I've lost 50 pounds in the last 7 months... by NOT eating Whoppers!

Oh well... one can't hurt, right! ;)

(Have to keep my sexy figure for Sneezy... ;) )

    50 lbs? Nice :)

I'm trying to get on track to lose about 40. I don't like all this weight I seem to have gained since HS... I've put on about 25. I'm looking to get back to where I was when I actually looked good, if I do say so myself :)

I just need to find myself a workout buddy. I skate 4 or 5 times a week, but that doesn't help slim my waist down any, lol. On the other hand, I do have strong legs...
  • Apr 23, 2008, 10:27 AM
    HistorianChick
I've got a KILLER waist-cinching exercise that I... well, can't exactly show you now, can I? LOL!

Its awful... but golly, it works!

Lets see if I can explain it...

You sit on the floor with your legs straight in front of you. Twist your waist and put your nose to the floor behind you... (wow... this is hard to describe) Without using your hands (well, as little as possible), bring your body back to a 90 degree angle, twisting from your waist as you sit up. Do this 10 times each side. In a week, you'll start to notice a difference! :)
  • Apr 23, 2008, 10:30 AM
    retsoksirhc
Is that legs apart a little so I can keep my balance? I think I get what you're saying... but I know I can't get my nose to the floor behind me, lol.

Like.. I could twist my upper torso to the right and sortof lay on my stomach, while my legs are still upright and forward, right? And then without hands, go back to regular sitting position?
  • Apr 23, 2008, 10:31 AM
    HistorianChick
I think so... You start sitting at a right angle, legs apart a bit - for balance.

You got the other parts right!
  • Apr 23, 2008, 10:34 AM
    retsoksirhc
Cool. I'll have to try that out.

I'm a big fan of the good ol crunches, but I can never will myself to do them, lol. I always feel the burn. I was sick with a really not-fun cold about 2 months ago, I lost 20 pounds over the course of a week... and managed to keep 5 off, lol. I guess getting sick has it's benefits.
  • Apr 23, 2008, 10:36 AM
    HistorianChick
    Crunches... blech... lol

The thing about this exercise, it works your sides and waist - because, basically, you're using muscles in your waist and side to pull up the weight of your torso... its an intense exercise if you do it right. You won't need more than 10 on each side for a bit. When your body gets used to the repetitions, you can up it to 15 or 20.

    retsoksirhc
Awesome. After my waist I got to get some upper body strength, lol. I used to install cable... carrying around a 28' extension ladder was all I needed to keep my strength up. Now that I work in an office, I can't do a singple pullup.
