The Mac thing really stumped him. Just fyi, I don't have a Mac. I wish! ;)

Okay, so next time (which will be later this week or next week at the latest), I'll either tell him I don't have a computer, or start talking in German. Maybe I should record it. :)

I love playing pranks on these people. Fortunately, though, here in the US we have a Do Not Call registry that we can sign up for, so I don't get those calls.

Please and use German to tell him you have a C-64 that you bought in 1984. ;)

We have a do not call registry too, but you have to have the phone number in order to stop the calls, and these guys always block their calls. :(

But it is fun to toy with them. That idiot had no idea that a woman was going to squish him like a bug when he called. Made me feel pretty darn good. :)

I can't wait to talk to him again. Round two coming up Habish. I hope you're ready! ;)

LOL! Considering the fact that it actually took quite a while before he understood that my owning a Mac (which I don't) means that I don't use windows (and he's supposedly a computer tech!), I have a feeling that the C-64 comment would go right over his wee head. So would the German. ;)

    Good morning all.
Well, I didn't get the job promotion :/... I guess it was kind of a long shot anyway. Grumble.

I'm sorry you didn't get it. Just means there's something better for you out there.

How is everyone this morning? Doing okay here. BP is soaring through the roof, can't take this headache much longer.

Hey! Been there, and it feels like crap, however, they know your interested, if you really want it keep applying, same thing happened to me last year, I was gutted, but I worked harder, I got noticed by another organisation and got head hunted, now I work for them, and I love it, if I had got the promotion I would have never come onto the other organisations radar.

Pamper yourself later, I brought a cake when it happened to me and ate it while watching the biggest loser, ahhh, happy days.

I'm trying to. Being as lazy as possible so that the meds kick in. Not doing anything that would increase my pressures.

Be careful J! And thanks. I'm going after the woman who did get the job's old position now. :D

I work for the local sewer district, except I handle flood protection. We are in a valley and right next to a river, so flooding is common. I handle scheduling and customer service, invoicing and budget. Not a dog gone thing to do with my degree in design. Lol

Yeah and it's about to be the stormy season around here. Will that make you busier? Degree in design lol.

Oh Yeah, we are gearing for it. March/April/may are always busy. Yeah I worked as a graphic designer for the paper here, but they started having trouble and I left. There isn't much design work in this city, unless you can work 14 hours a day, and that's just not conducive to being a mommy. :)

    Alka, good luck! :)

Red, it's reading about you eating cake while watching biggest loser that reminds me why I like you. :)

Synn's comment keeps going weird... first it said it was quoting me, but I didn't say it, and then now it's all jacked up...

LOL... I was just saying that I got a great job opportunity paying way more and doing it from home, but that I didn't want to downplay anyone's bad day/week.

I don't know if I could recommend you now, WG. The way you edited my post wasn't very good :)

Make sure in your profile you have it set to: No Email notification.

Also unsubscribe from the thread and then when you subscribe again choose no email notification. Those actions should be under "tools" on Right Hand side of the thread.

Cat--it's actual contract work. I'll be setting up an LLC, and working with a friend who has been VERY successful (think 6 digits) with this company for years. Normally, I'd be VERY cautious about work at home stuff (most of it IS scams), but this is through a good friend, and they're essentially creating the position for me.

I need to vent! So my really good friend J and her (jerk) boyfriend just bought a new duplex, so after work I said I would stop by. I bought them a gorgeous painting from a local artist--an oil painting-- and I bought their daughter a bunny and candies for Easter, also my friend gave me a hood range micro wave, it's like a $500 machine, I just bought a brand new one so I gave it to them. J said thank you, and her boyfriend just looked at the painting and threw it on the couch. Now I know buying art for people isn't always the best idea as house warming, but I happen to know J liked it. I asked where she was going to hang it, and her boyfriend says "in the bathroom". He didn't even say thank you. I specifically said the painting was for both of them, but he could care less. Didn't say thank you for the microwave or anything. And then I just sat down and he was lik e"ok J it's time to go, we need to go Easter shopping". Like why the heck invite someone over if you're just going to leave right away. But what really burns me, is that me and her had plans to have a girly night because he was going out of town, as soon as he heard I was coming over to spend the night, he said he wasn't going and totally ruined our plans. Grr. Okay vent over. At home--alone-- with a glass of wine.
