RED! I like your thinking! Things happen like this to me all the time. I go through a string of bad luck, and then everything kind of evens out for a bit.
But I am SO down with going to Ireland. I am totally going to fake the Irish accent. I'll smuggle you in Alty. You said you were flexible right?
Plus, you just remodeled. I'm sure you want to show it off. I really would love to visit Ireland - after all I am part Irish. My mom's mother was born there.
Well, I'm sure your daughters going to college is a mixed blessing. I went 500 miles away from home. The first semester I'd call my mom at least once a week feeling all sad for being away. I'd be studying late into the night, not noticing the time, and sometimes would call at 2 am or so. She said I gave her heart attacks when I did that. :o By the second semester, I had settled in and my mom had become used to not having a kid at home any more.
I'm loving the 'new look' of the house.
<will post pictures!>
Ill still have ciara at home and a hoard of animals to care for,and brendan is just next door,so all in it won't be so bad.
Whens the wedding JLo? October?
Bella, it will all even out.
Just think of it as using up all your bad luck for the next 10 years, squashed into 3 months!
October 9. :D Carolyn's wedding is September 18. We've been busy so the time is going really fast. I am at my aunt's house in LA this weekend. She's working on my dress. Just a few final adjustments, and then she's ready to start the beading. She won't need me to try it on again until a week or two before the wedding, just to be sure I haven't changed sizes at all. It's so pretty.
Red, I have to be smuggled, I don't have a passport. Even when I do have a passport I have issues because I'm not a Canadian citizen, but I live here.
Leaving usually isn't a problem, but coming back is.
Sigh. I wish I could travel. I'd settle for being able to get into the States. ;)
I don't feel nervous at all, but I am excited. We get back from the honeymoon near the end of October, and then the holidays are already upon us. I also will be gearing up for my busy season. By December, I'm working 60 hours a week usually... and between January and April 15, it steadily increases until I get up to 80 hours a week. So, we are having as much fun as possible now!
I just found this little gem of a spelling on the boards (PREAGNEAT).
Jlo,sounds like your going to be a busy women,I'm so happy things worked out for you.
Preagneat? A neat preag? Prague that looks neat? Pre-ag-neat?
Sigh.
If you can't spell it, don't do it. That's my motto. :)
So am I. At least now I know I can deal with just about anything. You guys were all such a great help - kept me laughing and gave me something to look forward to when I was home for so long. :)
I'm so lucky :)
Last night I was out exploring the town, when I decided to go watch scott pilgrim vs the world (great film, go see it, especially if you like your games)
Anyhoo, came out of the cinema , its dark and I have no idea in which direction home is (I recently moved and haven't had time to explore which is what I was doing)
So I'm hesitant to ask the stoned and drunk people about town at that time and I see an ambulance parked outside a pub across the road and the ambulance driver is getting back in,
So I nip over and ask if she can point me in the direction of 'home'
She says yeah sure the hospitals near there ill drop you off,
So I get in and get a lift home :D
My son once phoned me at 4am to ask me what his blood group was. That very nearly did give me a heart attack. Long story short - him and his mate were drunk, mate got hurt (busted nose) , drunken son thought he could somehow be heroic and offer the hospital his own blood for his pal. Sheesh!
I think they will. He's a great guy and you know how wonderful she is. He has a 2 1/2 year old son (widowed), so Carolyn is jumping right into motherhood.
Thanks, Cat. You made my day. I am going to be a bridesmaid in Carolyn's wedding. I'll send you and Cats a picture in a couple of weeks. After all, you should know what your daughter looked like. ;)
Sorry this is late :o
Hi cat
Hi QP
Hi Jlo
How're you gals doing this evening :)
Hi bear. Got flu again grr. Doesn't seem like 5 minutes since the last dose. How's you?
QP, tea and honey usually help me feel somewhat more human when I have the flu. I hope you feel better fast. {{{{QP}}}}
Bear, all is going well here. My son, husband and a couple of friends are playing Dungeons and Dragons. I am laughing at mishaps and missed traps. :)
JLo, Carolyn will make a wonderful mother from what I have seen and heard of her. I can't wait for pictures. ;)
Poor Q, you are always sick! :(
You need to have a good feed of boiled dinner. When ever we were sick as children, my nannie used to make us boiled dinner.
Is it the actual flu, or is it a head cold?
Oops sorry guys :o
Hey Bear, Cat and Jlo, and Alty if you're still around.
Hey bella, hope your doing well, how's lady doing after the porcupine incident :)
Oh she's fine. I'm sure she hasn't learned her lesson :p
I'm doing good. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. My friend stopped by with 5 new fish for me.
No worries bella, glad to hear she's all better now :D
Remember fish are friends, not food :)
Well these guys are my friends, but I LOVE to eat fresh fish! :p
Aslong as you don't do it in front of them I'm sure you'll be fine :)
Aurora bell...
Your sig line pic reminds me of a previous ex.
Italian. Young. Spirited. Tough. The absolute definition of sexy.
And she had "sniper vision" according to the govt enforcement agency for which she worked.
Loved her form. Loved her fire and feistiness.
But I always had in the back of my mind "this girl can pick me off at 300 yards like nobody's biz and not break a nail"...
;)
You never know KP, you may find me knocking on your door one day. I don't think the husband is as big a hurdle as the lack of passport. May take me longer to get a passport than it will take to get rid of the ball n chain. ;)
I do love the big oaf. He's lucky, because I almost killed him in Walmart today. Tensions were running high, it was the last store of 5 others today looking for the elusive items left on the back to school list. I was tired, the kids were tired, hubby, he wanted to check out all the sales bins, even though the things on sale weren't the things we were looking for. I was done. I wasn't in the mood to look through a huge box of old movies with titles I'd never even heard, or a box of loose socks hoping to find a pair. I just wanted to get what we came for and leave.
Okay, I'm working myself up again. So tell me KP dear, if you and I were together would you be wise enough (after trekking around all over Dog's green earth all day) to not recommend that your tired wife look at movies that are $1.00 with titles like "I left my harp in Sam clams disco", or to suggest we go through a box the size of my mini van to see if we can find a matching pair of tube socks because they're only 50 cents each?
If you are, I may be at your door sooner than you think . ;)
I'm not going to throw another man card member under the bus...
Unless its worth it.
Just saying.
;)
I remember one new years... my cousin was getting smack talk from my then-wife. Her mental processor is so damn fast. She refuses to say the first four things that comes into her mind, but the fifth, it still stings like isopropyl cohol on road rash.
So she lays into him. He is half drunk. And he looks to me to defend him. Some Brotherhood of the Scrotum thing.
Nada.
Dude is on his own. I'm actually happy some other schmuck is taking flak instead of me.
So... you man might be in good company with others... but don't expect us to own up to it when your trigger finger is tight and the hammer is back.
