That's not nice! Hearing good news might just get me and Dani out of the gutter.

Doula. Tell. Now.
Are you sharing some hot chocolate with us or something?
Great News J_9!
Dani - I am sorry for your loss, both professionally and emotionally. Just remember, when you think you have hit rock bottom, there is nowhere to go but up!
Doula- Happy news sounds fantastic! Is it a basket of kittens and bunnies and puppies, oh my?
Thanks Alkaline hun :)
Nope... it is a bouncing, baby, boy!
Found out awhile back that one of my daughters is pregnant. Yesterday, they found out that they are having a boy... :)
My stepdaughters, who live in England, have children but we don't get to see them very much at all. In fact, two of them we have yet to see in person.
This baby will be the first from my children. I have been stocking up on diapers and wipes for them for a little while, but now I can do some real shopping!
J_9 - Sorry to hear that you had to go through all the HIPAA/patient confidentiality madness - seems pretty innocuous what went on. I wish there was a way to insulate people from undue/unfair scrutiny. When my dad was working as a doctor (anesthesiologist), he didn't have to deal with any of the paperwork/HIPAA stuff - healthcare administration rules have changed a lot and I guess it's a good thing but it can get frustrating at times.
I am glad the final outcome is good, but seems unfortunate to have to prove your innocence!
Blind dog rescued from trash heap has vision restored - msnNOW
I know I'm fairly new, but with the recent troubles you all are facing, I thought a story with a happy ending may be in order.
Dani - seems like a rough week viz. job and Karot!
On the bright side - we'll see you on AMHD more, maybe? There's always a silver lining... ;-)
Seriously though - just hang in there and get that resume out there - you know there are lots here that can perfect that document with you.
Thanks Ram, it's all due to this computer charting. They can see who accesses the records at all times. I was legit in my accessing even though it wasn't my patient. The physician's assistant at the hospital where the patient was transferred called with some questions so I had to access. Once this was explained to administration it was understood.
I guess it wouldn't have happened had we still been charting on paper, then there wouldn't be a trail.
Doula - Congrats on the wonderful news.
BTW - was my answer on the Turkey question helpful... I didn't get any feedback and you know how that feels ;-)
Awwwww BABIES! Who doesn't love a sweet little baby boy to cuddle. Congrats!
Dani, sorry to hear about your hamster. I hope you and your mother can find work soon.
J, great news. I hope everything is straightened out including why the information wasn't sent in the first place. I can't see them being able to survive if they lose another person.
Doula, congratulations. :)
Yes, my CNO is usually on the ball. That news along with considering my reputation as well as my recent Daisy Award nomination helps.
When they "pull" the chart from the computer it doesn't tell WHY it was accessed, it just tells who accessed it and when. When I explained it was understood that I was doing it as part of my job and there was no malicious intent.
Congrats on the Daisy nomination... that one comes from the heart of the profession... :)
Thanks all for the baby congrats! I am very excited!
I love that name!! Beautiful.
Dani--I'm so sorry to hear it. Hopefully there's a terrific window opening for you as this door is being closed.
J--HOORAY! I'm so happy!
Doula--Congrats! I like baby boys, but I'm a little biased right now.
Finally off for the day! I thought it would never end. A friend from work retired today, so everyone was pretty emotional, but I did find out that I have been selected to interview for her position, which is a great opportunity for me (and a significant pay raise, which is always good) But I am extremely happy the weekend has come. I feel exhausted this week for some reason.
Thank you :) Aye, I may be on more until I get a new job :) I really need to work out what it is I want to do, because I don't really know what to pursue as a career
Thanks Cat, I hope so too. :)
Thanks Synnen, I'm a tad relieved to leave the place if I'm honest, haha.
Congrats Doula! I bet becoming a grandparent is great, all the kids without the pain. :D
I didn't read back, other than the last page, so, to Dani, I'm sure something will turn up. Just hang in there. If not, you can move to canada, we're hiring where I work. I'll put in a good word for you. :)
Today seemed to last forever. I'm so glad it's done. Three day weekend for me. Not that it's time off. A mom's job is never done. :(
Glad your day is over Alty and that you get a 3 day weekend.
After today I'll never complain about my job again. At least I still have one, wasn't too sure if I did earlier in the day.
Thanks Alty... hugs to you too, enjoy your 3 days off.
At least you get to have 3 days home.
Bella is coming? Oh, now that's going to be a good time for all I'm sure! We can't wait for the pics.
She was supposed to come last year, but we both started new jobs, and it just wasn't a good time. Her tickets (which she bought last year) expire this year, so she has no choice now. Her and Miss E are coming to visit me. I can't wait.
We'll post tons of pictures on AMHD. I'm sure that most of them will include a beer in our hands. ;)
So that's one down, a lot more to go. Hint, hint. When are you going to visit? Bring Synn. I'll get Bella, and a few other girls, and we'll have a girls party time Canadian style. :)
Oh, I would love to come up there and visit. Believe me I would. Funds and time are my enemies though.
I don't have a passport, for me OR the baby. And I didn't win the MegaMillions jackpot tonight, so money is a little tight for me. I have lots of extra space for people to crash here, though! You all can come visit me!
What a super cold morning on the soccer field. :chatter, chatter, chatter::
