Hey, you can shop here tax free on the 4, 5 & 6. Just say you are going back to college and all clothes are tax free.

Pool is open, just waiting for the thunderstorms to pass. I never realized how much I miss a nice cool rain shower... and the sound of rumbling thunder... NAP TIME!!

    Myth
I guess I didn't hit post last night when I wrote this all out the first time... lol. My man and his buddy Mike were putting together a cheep bbq last night. First it took them over an hour and a half... they actually read the instructions. When they finally got done it was around midnight... It was just kind of funny watching two grown men get out smarted by a charcole bbq. They actually had to pull out power tools... lol... We finally ate around one thirty or so... It was so much funnier when I had the play by play written out last night... I could've swore I hit post when I was done. Maybe I'll bbq again tonight... or it's going to be a left overs night...

I have a cat that can pass for a dog... He's over ten pounds and less than a year old. He likes his belly rubbed and will lick you if you give him half the chance... lol.

P.S. Oh by the way... I started nesting last night really bad... I started to defrost the freezer

    Great story Myth..

My hubby is an EXCELLENT BBQer, so I can't imagine a man that does not know how. Especially in the Memphis area where it is considered to be the BBQ capital of the world!!

Lol... Drew *my guy* was never taught how, but I know how... He will be taking that over very, VERY soon... lol

Well, I for one agree with your views, as well as others. Just turned 36 myself. Age isn't always necessarily a huge factor in the weight and merit of someone's words. Though often as people get older, certain views may tend to get revised. Many things do still ring true even decades later. And it's not so much about what you've learned in school, but the way you've lived your life. Which is very different for everyone. Some of the wisest, most mature people I have ever know were 16 years old, and I've also known 30 year-old adults lacking the maturity to raise their own children.
I'm sure more than a few people on these boards would agree that sometimes I live within my own unique plane of existence -- I won't argue that :) -- but I'm relatively happy there. It's my own personal truth. Stick to what you believe, and to what you feel to be right, as well as know to. Someday you might look back and change your mind about certain views. But what matters, is that they were relevant in the time in which you expressed them. There is often a temporal or historical element to truth. People will always disagree about things, but there will always be someone who values your individual words and finds truth in what you have to say. It's all about agreeing to peacably disagree. That's what makes life truly diverse and interesting.

I don't know how to exactly reword the certain parts of this and put it into my own words, so that I can show you that I not only completely understand what you saying, but I agree, and this is basically what I was saying with less detail.
The one thing that you said about school not being the major factor in someone's knowledge is something I highly agree with. I know a lot of people who are only school smart, people who went to college at the age of 10, and own mansions by 20. But if you ever have a conversation with those kind of people, they can't tell you a thing about street life. They can't tell you a thing about how to raise a child, and its not even about telling you what they know, because I think of these people as parrots. They do what they're teachers tell them, what they're parents tell them, what the authority tells them, but they forgot to do what they wanted to do. They thought they wanted to listen to their parents when they're parents told them to go to school, get an education, and forget about tom and jane... they won't matter when you live in the mansion. But guess what, while going through school, it might be a good idea not to get to involved with other influences (people, drugs, alcohol etc) BUT when you live in that mansion, and your all alone, your going to wish you had tom to call over and have a few cocktails with, and your going to wish jane had your ring on her finger and your babies in her belly.
I don't know where all that came from, but I guess its my way of telling you, I totally agree, and not only do I agree, but this is why. When I speak of age not being a factor, I just mean that a 5 year old can tell his 35 year old mother something she would have never known... and not just because his teacher told him, but because he took the time to observe, and understand. "Mommy, why is cindy's stomach hard in one spot? Maybe thats why shes crying." or "Mommy, maybe the birds dont sing anymore, because theyre eating their poo and not their bird seed" I think observation, and having a rational mindset are 2 things that come naturally in a lot of ways, but at the same time.. they are 2 things that to me, define a persons intelligence.

Well Im done here, I don't want to talk too much, thank you for helping me feel like I might have a place here. Being an alien is kind of not good these days, especially if your illegal.

Sometimes while lounging, and having a nice cold drink.. and I tend to have serious conversations. Its not something you should avoid, or something you should want to avoid. I think of this room as a room where there IS no topic... but that doesn't mean we can't talk about serious stuff from time to time. No topic doesn't mean nothing but happy talk, it just means where not talking about the same old thing throughout the whole forum. So if something serious comes up from time to time, that should be OK right?
You say "back to the fun," well... I think that I have established myself as a part of this room, and no one has asked me to leave yet (sits and waits for someone to kick her out). So... while Im member of this room, I want to have fun as well, AND, I just so happen to enjoy (enjoy means your having "fun" doing something.. right?) talking about things that matter to me. And just because I AM talking about serious things, doesn't mean Im necessarily less comfortable, or less happy than any one of you.

    Hi cassie,
I don't think this is about right and wrong ("so how can you feel what you say is wrong? thomas is right..." You used the words right and wrong, and to me that means that you THINK (Im not saying that this is, for sure, how you feel) that someone has to be right, and that someone has to be wrong, in order to make sense of what this room is all about.
I think thomas made sense of what I was saying, and was kind of just trying to make me feel like I have a place here. And I appreciate that. I also appreciate the fact that in a way, you were somewhat agreeing with the whole "if theres no topic then, then we should be able to talk about anything" idea. Hmm I talk too much.
