You guys are always talking about food and stuff, and living in this make believe world that I just can't get the hang of. You guys talk all weird and like.. I just don't get it.
Only like younger people talk like this, and can go on and on about absolutely nothing, but you guys are talking about being pregnant and stuff, and like twice?
So yeah, I just wanted to know how old everyone is, if you don't mind.
Me Im 21, yeah I know... old huh. I wish I were 18 again, with the knowlegde I have now (*winks*)

    People?? or temperature?
How 'bout a big cooling taco salad-- Frito brand chips, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, ranch-style beans semi-dreained (canned), white corn drained (canned), shredded cheese tossed with a bit of french dressing and let them garnish with chopped cilantro, black olives, salsa and sour cream

Okay note to self, don't party all night, the wakeup is bad. Really Bad. I didn't drink last night, however I am feeling really really tired. I got the whole bed head, wearing slippers, don't leave the hammock kind of day going.

Cassie, wakeboarding is well, it's a special type of board, and you ride the wakes. That's pretty much all I know how to describe it, here is a link
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wakeboarding

Also, what kind of food are you looking to make, a grill out maybe, or something of that sort. You could always look at allrecipes.com, they have a lot of recipes

No, Wizzy, partying all night is not good... Neither is babysitting a set of 11 year old twin boys who have ADD/ADHD all day. I can relate to you LOL

Lol, no that wouldn't be good, You should pop in a videogame or something, it's been the cure for add/adhd for years.

Oh my goodness, temperature. 5 people. It has been so hot I have been living on fruit and salads and cottage cheese and yogurt. My sweetie said not to worry he is going to cook outside and I'll put some fruit with yogurt, cottage cheese, and then a salad. I do have some veggies in the garden he can grill.
It is going to be like this, Hot August Nights start this weekend. We see people we have not seen for, well a year:)

Lucky you, I am not sure if we have any cooler temps in the future. Off to the lake again tomarrow. I am ready for a trip to the mountains soon. I grew up in them and miss them with the evening coolness.

    HOLY jesus,
No wonder why I don't get the humor that circulates around this room.
I thought you guys were older, but not like 20-30 years older.
And j_9, I don't think that you were telling me I don't know anything, but I know that at the age I am right now, I probably don't have half the knowledge that you have.
I don't claim to be smart, or intelligent, I just say what I know, and spread whatever knowledge I do have... and if people decide from that how smart I am, then that's on them.
All I know is that I feel like I have become more knowlegdable about all kinds of things in the past 2 years, and I know so much more now than I did when I was 18, its just unbelieveable.
People misjudge what I do know, because I am 21, but... people really shouldn't look at age when it comes to certain subjects.
Man Im such an outside in this room, I don't talk about what you all talk about, I kind of just start my own conversations.
Thanks to those of you who acknowledge and reply to what I have to say.

    Hi Nea,
Well, I for one agree with your views, as well as others. Just turned 36 myself. Age isn't always necessarily a huge factor in the weight and merit of someone's words. Though often as people get older, certain views may tend to get revised. Many things do still ring true even decades later. And it's not so much about what you've learned in school, but the way you've lived your life. Which is very different for everyone. Some of the wisest, most mature people I have ever know were 16 years old, and I've also known 30 year-old adults lacking the maturity to raise their own children.
I'm sure more than a few people on these boards would agree that sometimes I live within my own unique plane of existence -- I won't argue that :) -- but I'm relatively happy there. It's my own personal truth. Stick to what you believe, and to what you feel to be right, as well as know to. Someday you might look back and change your mind about certain views. But what matters, is that they were relevant in the time in which you expressed them. There is often a temporal or historical element to truth. People will always disagree about things, but there will always be someone who values your individual words and finds truth in what you have to say. It's all about agreeing to peacably disagree. That's what makes life truly diverse and interesting.

    Okay, back to the fun!!

I know I said that there was no subject, but, sheesh, let's not be so serious.

This post is about nothing, so how can you feel what you say is wrong? Thomas is right, age does not always go along with maturity. There are times my grandson has things figured and his mom is still pondering what happened:) Granted, life experiences give us knowledge, but watching others can be a great help in avoiding a few crashes.

Cassie, this is not a serious thread is all I am saying, we are here to have fun in The Lounge. The rest of the site is for serious discussions.

Sorry if I am being a thorn in the side right now, but I am on new BP meds, maybe Thomas can help me with some info he has, but the rest of us members Seniors and Experts need a thread to kick back and relax.

I am sorry, did not mean anything by it. I just thought it was open to everyone and it was just chit chat and about kicking back and relaxing. Didn't realize it was just for seniors and experts.
  • Jul 28, 2006, 08:07 PM
    J_9
No, actually it is for everyone, and a kick back relaxing kind of place. I WANT EVERYONE to enjoy The Lounge, but serious talk is for the other threads. That is all.

Sorry if I offended you, I did not mean to.

It's not just for the seniors and experts, I think she just just didn't put a comma after members, which lead you to believe that she was talking about only seniors and experts. I have never tried windsurfing, party because I think, if I am thinking of the right thing, that it requires certain equipment, like a parachute of some sort, and we don't have that.

Anyway, I am still tired, but the whole problem is that I will probably be up longer tonight, than usual, because I slept the day away...

Got to spread the love Wizzie, but yea, I did forget the comma.

Sheesh, I better hit the bed.

I thought one of the things I posted in the OP was that there was to be no bickering and this place was only for fun.

Yeah, I am going to get off, Ill be on later, I know you guys won't unless you can't sleep, anyway, I am going to go ponder life and question the future...

    Hi J 9,
I apologize, just didn't want Nea to feel somehow alienated. I do need to learn how to have more fun, I'm usually way too serious for my own good. :) Sorry I missed your post on BP meds, I tend to multitask while at the computer -- in and out of the room, TV, food, cats, etc. I'll help if I can. :)

It's 10:30 PM in Idaho and I just woke up from sleeping the day away. The Government has been spraying us with downers a lot lately and I have no energy. I am ready to give any pointless information I may have to any pointless boondoggle that may arise... hey, is there anybody still awake? Hello? Sheese... I'm too late as usual. Oh well, there is always my ole guitar. When every one else abandons me she always loves me! I'll just tune to open G and slide right out of here.

    Myth
Omg! I just watched the funniest thing happen in my living room... I'm still laughing... My boyfriend and his friend talked me into grilling tonight hamburgers, hotdogs, bratworst, sasages, you know the works... I have a steak. Well we had to go to wal-mart and get a grill. We bought a cheep 20 dollar one that they were putting together. It has taken them over an hour to put it together... lol... With the instructions... lol... it's now 11:30pm. I think we're going to eat around 2... maybe?. lol... Then he had me find a squirt bottle because they were trying to set the house on fire with the flames... Well I guess now I don't have to worry about bugs in the food... lol... My man doesn't know how to grill so this is a first for him, his friend does. Yes, they have some beer but neither has drank any yet... lol.. At least that would have been an excuse for the lack of motor skills involved but hey at least it was entertaining to watch... lol... Just thought I would share.

Eats a handful myself for good measure, green ones and all :D
