Your request wasn't out of line.

The thread seemed to start with a definite purpose and cause. Then it proliferated into generalities not according to the original question at hand.

I just don't like general discussions because they can go anywhere. Seem to be just chat...

But, that's just me...

I agree Heath, chatting is fun, but we were bad, the thread wasn't originally in the lounge which is reserved for chatting. Although I'm sure Stringer didn't mind we should know better.

Sorry Ben, Clough and Judy. I can only speak for myself, I like to talk to people, I like to discuss with people, and in the course of discussion sometimes the original topic is forgotten and we go off on a tangent. I guess I'm just too accustomed to dealing with people in real life and not on the internet where the topic must be adhered to.

This is why any thread I start that is general, a question that can lead to other discussion, I put it in the chat forum so that no one gets upset if the thread goes off course.

I'll refrain from posting here and leave the thread to continue with the discussion it was intended for. :)

I also want to apologize to Stringer, I hope you can forgive me for my part in this.

I'm pretty sure the original intent of this thread is long gone. Besides, it already got moved to the lounge.

It got moved because it got chatty. The original intent of it could have been sustained, and it might not have been moved, if the original intent and subsequent conent proceeding from the original intentions of it had remained.

Clough, I have to point out that you also strayed from the thread when you asked Kit what was going on. That post could have been handled via PM but you chose to post it here, clearly deterring from the subject of the thread. I too posted to Kit asking what was going on, but please don't insinuate that you played no part in it. Your post was written to provoke discussion that would not follow the original question

I don't mind apologizing for my part in it, in fact I already have apologized, but you too wrote posts that had nothing to do with this thread and yet here you are chastising the rest of us. .

Hey! When's the last time that you saw my chastising someone, Alty? I virtually never do it! (Except, occasionally for the people looking for direct answers to their homework questions!)

Yes, I strayed on this thread, as I have on others. But, it's been for very brief periods. We had a member on this thread who was in some trouble. Needing caring and attention. Straying that much was an exception. It was also very unusual. Those times happen...

Whether someone gets a private message or not is also something that can be ambiguous. We don't know for sure...

If we know that someone is paying attention to a thread, then sometimes we need to address them on the treads.

No pat answer here... Please don't be mad at me forever, okay?
