Wording a meaningful 'Thank You' sign
I am looking for a good suggestion for a wooden 'thank you' to express gratitude to a pharmacy manager who went out of his way to assist me and my parents.

I burn the wording on a piece of old barn siding, then finish accordingly.

    Any ideas?

All suggestions will be taken into consideration, one will be accepted...

Thank you for helping me get stoned! LOL! Just joking! :p

    Thanks for the pills
    And all the refills
    They helped with my ills
    But not with my bills

LOL... again... joking. I guess I'm not so good at this! :D

Hmmm a good thank you would do the trick. You are so nice KBC, I just bought a pair of pants and you will never understand what I go through when I try on 35 pairs and walk out with none... so I called the girls the next day that made my day with the most awsome pants ever... and said thanks... and told them how much it meant for them to have helped me like they did. YA I spent too much on them, but it was well worth it.

I also do little things like this when I feel as if the help was more than they were hired to do;) I just love this idea. Good job on being a "good" human being.

I edited my post. I guess I'm not so good at sayings. I liked my poem... I might just give that to my pharmacist! She'd probably laugh her butt off! LOL!

Thanks Starty. It wasn't very imaginative though. How big is this sign going to be Ken? Do you want a one liner, or longer?

Hi Star - brought back a memory. I was at a dinner and somebody was discussing waiting in line to pick up a prescription and I said I didn't know, I didn't pick mine up and she asked how I managed that and I said I was sleeping with my Pharmacist.

Long pause before it struck her and then she laughed.

I went a step or two beyond hugging - :D

(And for the record - I have enough bottles of various types of liquor in the basement, all of them Christmas gifts "for my Pharmacist," to open a liquor store. He used to also bring home the most fantastic homemade cookies, breads and candies, homemade wine, from so many customers! And what did he save - the notes that simply said, "thank you." In a big box store a letter to the District Manager is meaningful - but you have to be careful. I saw a Pharmacist fired after an overzealous customer sent a thank you letter for a "favor" which was against the Law - even though that certainly was not the Pharmacist's intent and it was just a stop gap measure until the Pharmacist could reach the Physician.)

That's funny Judy! I can just imagine the look on your friends face, until she figured it out! LOL!

Yes, I guess that wouldn't look too good sending a thank you letter like to to the guy who has control over "the drugs" hey? Oops! I've never actually thought of getting something for my pharmacists. It would cost me a fortune though! Although I know them all by name, I hardly get the same one twice in a row, and there are about 6 of them!

If I was going to get a gift for one of them in particular, it would be Sheri, since she's the one that has bent over backwards for me many times, but I sure wouldn't want to single her out. The others have been very helpful too. I'm glad you mentioned that "your" pharmacist saved the notes in particular. I need to go in for my refills, so I will take cards for all of them! :D

Glad you enjoyed the laugh - and, yes, the simple "thank you for your kindness," something like that - that's really appreciated. I think it's the same in most professions.

Although I never turn down a gift! :D

UHOH,this looks like it is getting habit forming:)

How many professions DO we thank for their services?

Our garbage man gets a card(maybe a six pack too... :D)as well as the paper carrier/postal carrier, they are easy to deliver, right in the box.. or right on top of the can as the case may be... lol

Remembering those who 'serve' not just the armed forces or the police, they are important in the larger picture, but the little people we tend to look past... they do more for society than we truly return to them.A card(or a six pack) can say a lot.

Remember those that serve you this year.

You know, when I was still working outside of my home as a floral designer, I'll never forget this one guy who used to do something every Christmas for me and one of the other girls.

He used to stop by every so often in the morning and bring us doughnuts. Then right around C'mas, he would have someone order a special exotic flower, or a pretty poinsettia to be picked up usually early on C'mas eve day. At the last minute, he would call the shop and say Merry C'mas, those flowers are actually for you! Although after the C'mas season we were a little sick of looking at the darn things, it really was nice to take home flowers that someone had bought us, since we had spent weeks before C'mas making them for everyone else.

The yr. that he passed away, his wife ordered them, and sent a card along saying that these once again were for us, from him. It made us cry, that she thought of us of all people, and how much we appreciated that he always remembered us at C'mas. :)
