New York would be big on anyone's list of places to see in the US, I imagine. What are the best places in the States to see if you're a tourist............ besides Disneyland :)

Vegas was my fave FP :)

Have you been to Vegas, 4fu? You rocker!

How did you do at the roulette table?

It would be impressive, I'm sure. Is it anything like Oceans Eleven?

Why am I asking all these questions... lol!!

Ooo that's been something on my mind for a veeery long time. Ready for my list? Lol
    Starting with my top destination...
    1. Philadelphia - because I have an online buddy that I've never met in person who lives there - am itching to see their neighborhood!
    2. San Fransisco - I find this place really quaint and just oozes architecture. Gee the fun I could have with my camera here!
    3. Los Angeles - just because!
    4. Yellowstone Park - Gorgeous, awesome, breathtaking, surreal.
    5. Las Vegas - bright lights, all the "great cities" in one place and cheap food!
... phew I could probably go on and on and on but I'm about to turn into a pumpkin so catch you on the other side! I'll be dreamin of more wonderful places tonight!

Yellowstone Park looks awesome, Mopar. I'll add it to my wish list that now includes:

    1. New York (for what I think would be its character and charm)
    2. San Francisco (looks quaint in movies and sitcoms, as you say)
    3. Las Vegas (because you have to see Vegas)
    3. Yellowstone Park (because you mentioned it and it sounds/looks awesome) Yellowstone National Park (U.S. National Park Service)
    4. Sierra Nevada (someone vaguely mentioned it once and for some reason it stuck as sounding like a wonderful place to see/walk through parts of. Sierra Nevada (U.S - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.)

Where's the best coastline in America? Happy for you to go on... as I have only a lot of vague images and impressions of America that I can't quite put together yet.

10/20, and the sad thing, the only Canadian place in the entire question, well, I got it wrong. I've been to Whistler, and I still didn't get it. My bad. :(

That's not bad Alty :-) I'm glad someone's been to Whistler since I'd never heard of it before, even though I just found out the 2010 winter olympics are to be held there. It looks spectacular:

I've been told Canada has some of the best skiing in the world!!

It does M, sadly, I'm not much of a skier, in fact, I suck at it. ;)

Whistler is beautiful, we went there during the summer, camping, so no snow then and no skiing. ;)

Hmm I think (only from what I've stumbled across on the net) the Florida Keys looks nice, Coopers beach in NY seems to be a fav of many too as well as Caladesi beach in Florida. If you count Hawaii (which of course is a state of America, there are some nice coastlines there too.

Hawaii! Not a difficult choice :)

And I'd forgotten Chile, which is another place I'd love to see.

Oh so if we're talking anywhere in the world now, my list would look like this:

    1. Singapore - I'm dying to take a photo of that dazzling city skyline at night.
    2. U.S.A - well you just got to!
    3. Ireland - amazing countryside.
    4. Greece - I love those whitewashed houses with the blue oval roofs.
    5. Italy - Romance...
    6. Egypt - got to see the pyramids.
    7. Dubai - wow that place is expanding at an amazing pace, and those buildings... sheesh!
    8. Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany - I'm sure this is where Snow White lived!
    9. Machu Picchu - I'm fascinated by ancient history and it's ruins.
    10. Australia's Gold Coast - well it is just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away but I can't surf darn it!

Guess that's enough for now. This is where I get VERY attached to my computer - all these wonderful places in one place at the same time almost instantly to peruse, and without the huge price tag lol. Hmmm where shall I go tomorrow? That's just a small list of some of the places I've always dreamed of visiting. :o:eek:

The score part doesn't seem to be hot topic any more... but I will still tell as I had been so patient in taking that quiz... :)... it was 7/10 and he rightly called me a geography monster... next time give me a maths quiz and I may score better... :)...

I took this too a few days ago, but I have to tell you all, Mexico is my favourite by far. I am going next July for two weeks (yes finally scraped the money together) and I will be sure to show you all pics when I get back. In the meantime, frangy, Google QUERETERO. That's where I will be staying.

What a picturesque place that is, Tickle... love the thought of chilling out over two weeks and strolling through streets and plazas in a place like that. Sounds like the perfect holiday... must see your photos.

Hi there wannatruth, scores are really neither here nor there since it was mostly a guessing game... glad you had a go though :)

    1. Took myself on my first overseas trip to Malaysia and Singpore when I was 17... they have orchids dipped in gold that some friends I made at the time gave me. Nice memories.
    2. USA - might get there one day
    3. With you on the Irish landscape, Mopar... and the accent! My father's family were originally from Ireland, so I have other reasons for wanting to see it.
    4. I've always wanted to go the Greek Islands ever since reading a Lawrence Durrell novel when I was 17... still haven't got there yet. Love those white washed houses overlooking the ocean too.
    5. yep. The colours. The culture. The romance.
    6. apparently being in Egypt is like having mystical experience no amount of photos can recapture
    7. Dubai? Yeah... whoa! Got to see that one day.
    8. Germany... that whole part of Europe is lush and picturesque, isn't it? Would love to see Austria too and for some silly reason I promised my daughter we'd both go there one day... from a conversation we had when we found her an Austrian ballgown for her babie doll.
    9. Oh yeah! Ancient ruins... lost cities... questions with incomplete answers...
    10. You know, I've never been there. Love Australian beaches though... they would have to be the best. Where else could you eat your dinner off the sand in places if you wanted? You don't actually have to know how to surf, Mopar. But there is nothing like swimming in the ocean... :)
