I was just pointing out that people are unkind to all sorts of people, not just the beautiful ones. Yes I wish it weren't the case as well. I've made a conscious decision to not make unking people part of my social circle.
That being said - I also think Ms. Hilton is not very bright and is a very poor image for young women to emulate. I also relish in her jail term because she deserves to be treated like all others - as an equal.

Yes, she does just drive away at the end. If that was my car she hit, I would be irate in the first place that someone hit my car, but most of all it was done by someone with enough money to buy me 10 new ones, and can't even leave her information on my car. Maybe she's dumb, maybe she has no sympathy for the "average person," but there are laws, and even if Ms. Hilton breaks them, she must suffer the consequences just like every one else.

Have you heard what the twit has gone and done lately? She allowed herself to be photographed using marijuana. According to the Hollywood reporter I listen to that is based out of LA, they routinely drug test any new inmates coming in. If you are popped for drugs, you get another 90 days automatically.
Since nothing Paris does goes without notice around the world, how likely is it that she isn't going to get tested on her way in?

I am not a Paris fan - nor Sarah Silverman - that joke was stupid. Especially with her in the audience. I mean, I get that a joke was going to be made - any comedian worth their salt is going to bring up "current events" in celebrity world. But, that was just stupid.
It actually made me feel bad for Paris - yeah, now I feel dirty.

What does that equate to? A quarter of the sentence? Whatever. If that was one of us - we would have gotten way more than the original 45 days - never to be reduced to 22 and then only serve 5.
Maybe the judge saw the bit on MTV and felt sorry for her and thought that having to sit there and listen to Sarah Silverman was punish enough for anyone.
I wish I were a pretty rich girl who barely finished high school, never work a day in my life, spend money recklessly, flash my crotch to all, make sex videos that the world can see for free and still have people pity me.. . sigh...
I think people pity her for the reasons you gave, NK. She has a lot the things people wish they have - money and priveledge, yet she wastes her life. With that much opportunity and possibilites - if chosen she could do so much.

Dose this not just prove the point that our judicial system is a joke! If your rich enough you can get away with anything (cough... oj... cough)! She Drove drunk there is no excuse for that! The only medical condition she has is stupidity for not knowing that her licence was suspended. What was she thinking? It was OK for her to drive to work? Whatt does the average person do when there licence is revoked? Ah ride the bus car pool! It just makes me so sad that this is how our system works!
Mrs. J it is sad. But I think what is even more sadder, is that Paris, could have looked around her knowing, that in 20 some odd days she will be going back to the most incredible house, you and I could only dream of and the girls in there with her, are there until the very last minute of their sentence is done and some don't even know where they will be going home to.
Anotherwords, Paris could have dug down real deep and had some compassion for the others who are not as fortunate as her. But maybe she did. I shouldn't try and presume that she didn't. Maybe she is used to having it so good, she is unable to function in an environment other than what she is accustomed to and that I fault her parents for. It is all well and good to give your childern all the things that you can afford, but you do your children such a diservice by not giving them what they actually need to survive in this world and that does not come in material things.
Oh there is a lesson in all of this, but it is a sad one.

People should do the right thing. In the real world, they don't. Neither do you. Sure, people should be made to pay for their transgressions upon society. In truth, they rarely are. Those that do pay, pay dearly.
If it was you, you would have done everything you could have to get released. So, I'm glad for her. Jail sucks.

Well, Paris was put back in jail. And seems the judge really was PO'd and took it out on Paris and now they are saying she will have to do the whole 45 days. The Sherriff stepped out of his jurisdiction when he released her. The judge is the law of the land, not the sherriff. The guy is risking his job. I can't believe he did that. Now, Poor little Paris has to pay by doing twice the sentence. There are a lot of people in jail that are cold, hungry, uncomfortable, sick and so on and so on. If the sherriff lets only those people out, the jail will be completely empty. No one left. They all have a good reason not to be there. Paris needs to suck it up and "take it like a man homes."
Mag, I do agree, I too can't believe the Sherriff overrode the Judge's ruling. He's probably a softee like me and just couldn't stand to see her cry.
Truth is, in the long run, this is better for Paris. Forever and ever she would never live down the fact that she got out of her sentence.
Your right, she has to suck it in and just perservere through it. She will come out stronger for it.
Although she may not be realizing it now, this is better for Paris down the line.

I'll admit, I've only read through the first few pages.
Yes Hilton was wrong and she violated probation.
But, I've known regular everyday people to do much worse than
What she's done and get house arrest instead of jail time.
I would think that house arrest would be the appropriate next step for her.
It's surly a type of punishment that people get for committing much worse crimes than she has committed.
I think that they are making an example out of her.
I also think that people who are less fortunate than her were wishing for the harsher sentencing because of envy "put the rich girl in her place" type of thinking.
Unfortunately, if this wasn't Paris Hilton, nobody would have cared.
Joe some who lives up town got house arrest for fondling a kid.
I'd much rather spend my tax dollars sending him to jail rather than someone who violated probation.

She isn't doing "twice" her sentence. The original sentence included penalties for repeated contempt and it was for 45 days. That was recalculated with anticipated time-off for good behavoir and set at 23 days. However, if three days is enough for the sherriff, I wonder what's in it for him...Quote:
