This is not looking good for me...
Nice one Cal.
Thanks, frangi, for that diversion. Just home from work last night and sitting down to watch Coronation Street with my supper, I lost my satellite signal !
Oh crap I said! Then I found that interesting little quiz and it passed the time.
Coronation Street? Lol! Glad you enjoyed the diversion Tickle.
Haha, it was nice...
Time zones are soooo cool! I go to sleep as you're going home from work. Its awsome!
I hope you had a good afternoon, and sleep as well.
And FP, I will get my sister to take the quiz. She thinks Hawaii is in the Caribbean ;). I will let you know how she does tomorrow! Lol
Yes, I had a nice nap myself- :)
Yes, I'm happy if I can get 4 hours of sleep each night. How's TO? I've been meaning to go to the Hockey Hall of Fame for awhile. I hate planes and I just can't bring myself to drive there...
Toronto is beautiful. We are already dealing with some snow, and squalls are expected for early next week. The snow (about a 1/4 of an inch) should melt soon. But still, it is just a reminder of what is to come! I love Canada! LOL.
And you're a hockey fan? You would love Toronto! The leafs suck, yet we continue to love them. It's kind of funny actually! Don't forget about Niagara Falls, and all that! There's a lot to see up here!
How is Ohio? I do love the hills in Southern Ohio/ West Virginia. Beautiful place... Throw the river in there, and it's perfect... I love driving through there. Can't say I've ever been to Protorville, but I'd like to visit sometime!
I love the hills and the woods here- I go hiking when I can, In regards to Hockey-
I'm a Wings fan, sure Ohio has the Jackets but I was watching hockey before we had the Jackets. No offense but the Leafs do suck! But so do the Bluejackets :)
*yawn... yay! I'm tired! Maybe I'll get some sleep! I'll catch you later man! :)
Haha, a Wings fan, eh?
That first game between the Leafs and Wings was great. Only because we won! HA! Of course, that is our only win so far this season. Detroit has quite a team there... lol. And Toronto residents will be the first to admit how awful the leafs are. Believe me, we know it! Lol
Of course, the Jackets are not even 10 years old, so they have an excuse for being bad. They are a really young team. The Leafs are a liiiitle older, and should be better. Ha! they may suck, but I am a Leafs fan to the end!
I don't hear of many hockey fans from southern Ohio... You originally from Proctorville?
And yeah, I got to get some rest too... Talk to you later :)
Go Leafs Go!
EDIT: I hope no one minds that we are using this thread kind of as a sort-of chat room... I enjoy it :)
Hmmm, scored 10. Some of them I thought were trick questions lol! Definitely need to scrub up on my geography. Anyone know which TV Advert the title question is mentioned in? ;)
Hi Mopar... they were tricky, eh. After doing that quiz, I think my knowledge of geography is all over the map and not always in the right place lol. I need to use a gps just to get to the next suburb and home again on the same day.
How's it going Frangi! I love fun facts about other parts of the world, so found this very intriguing. We did have a gps but found the annoying voice on it always sent us further round the block than we needed to go! :D
Oh well, we rely on our instincts now... which isn't much better!
Oh, jeez. I got 9/20.
I only knew 4 for sure... I can't believe I didn't get 20... I live right next to Phoenix and go there regularly! Haha.
I know what you mean about the gps lady's voice... a Johnny Depp version would be much nicer :) You won't believe this Mopar, but my gps took me to a cow paddock the other day lol! Literally, when the lady told my 'you have reached your destination' we were on a long country road with cow paddocks on either side stretched forever. So I wasn't kidding before... since I was supposed to have taken my daughter to her friend's house in a suburb not toooo far from us. Geez, I knew something was wrong lol And the gps lady wouldn't talk to me on the way home, either. Now I know how men feel sometimes ;)
I think I could do loads of those quizzes just for the fun of it... I thought it was intriguing too.
Geez, I actually knew 5 for sure. What's it like in Phoenix? I've never been to the States... doubt I ever will. Have to say if I had a choice I'd go to places like Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Ireland, Scotland, see more of the Pacific Islands, New Zealand, Antarctica, Himalayan Mountains... etc etc etc etc first :D Parts of the States look and sound amazing though and it would be great to see some of it.
Gee I don't think I'll ever get off the ground to see any o' those places! (sigh) Should get out to see more o' me own country first though, it's so beautiful. I have a good habit of growing glue on my feet lol. I on the other hand would loooove to see New York and LA. So far I've only had the privilege of seeing them from the Google cam :D
Me either, Mopar. It's just a fantasy.
New York would be big on anyone's list of places to see in the US, I imagine. What are the best places in the States to see if you're a tourist... besides Disneyland :)
Have you been to Vegas, 4fu? You rocker!
How did you do at the roulette table?
It would be impressive, I'm sure. Is it anything like Oceans Eleven?
Why am I asking all these questions... lol!!
Yep been to Vegas FP , amazing place. Flew into the Grand Canyon as well when there.
Go Go Go if you ever get a chance :)
Ooo that's been something on my mind for a veeery long time. Ready for my list? LolQuote:

1. Philadelphia - because I have an online buddy that I've never met in person who lives there - am itching to see their neighborhood!
2. San Fransisco - I find this place really quaint and just oozes architecture. Gee the fun I could have with my camera here!
3. Los Angeles - just because!
4. Yellowstone Park - Gorgeous, awesome, breathtaking, surreal.
5. Las Vegas - bright lights, all the "great cities" in one place and cheap food!
... phew I could probably go on and on and on but I'm about to turn into a pumpkin so catch you on the other side! I'll be dreamin of more wonderful places tonight!
Yellowstone Park looks awesome, Mopar. I'll add it to my wish list that now includes:
1. New York (for what I think would be its character and charm)
2. San Francisco (looks quaint in movies and sitcoms, as you say)
3. Las Vegas (because you have to see Vegas)
3. Yellowstone Park (because you mentioned it and it sounds/looks awesome) Yellowstone National Park (U.S. National Park Service)
4. Sierra Nevada (someone vaguely mentioned it once and for some reason it stuck as sounding like a wonderful place to see/walk through parts of. Sierra Nevada (U.S - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.)
Where's the best coastline in America? Happy for you to go on... as I have only a lot of vague images and impressions of America that I can't quite put together yet.
10/20, and the sad thing, the only Canadian place in the entire question, well, I got it wrong. I've been to Whistler, and I still didn't get it. My bad. :(
That's not bad Alty :-) I'm glad someone's been to Whistler since I'd never heard of it before, even though I just found out the 2010 winter olympics are to be held there. It looks spectacular:
The History of Whistler
I've been told Canada has some of the best skiing in the world!!
It does M, sadly, I'm not much of a skier, in fact, I suck at it. ;)
Whistler is beautiful, we went there during the summer, camping, so no snow then and no skiing. ;)
Hmm I think (only from what I've stumbled across on the net) the Florida Keys looks nice, Coopers beach in NY seems to be a fav of many too as well as Caladesi beach in Florida. If you count Hawaii (which of course is a state of America, there are some nice coastlines there too.Quote:

And I'd forgotten Chile, which is another place I'd love to see.
Negril Jamaica
Hey no fair Spydie, you went outside the U.S! :p
Negril is very picturesque! Yah mahn!
Oh so if we're talking anywhere in the world now, my list would look like this:
1. Singapore - I'm dying to take a photo of that dazzling city skyline at night.
2. U.S.A - well you just got to!
3. Ireland - amazing countryside.
4. Greece - I love those whitewashed houses with the blue oval roofs.
5. Italy - Romance...
6. Egypt - got to see the pyramids.
7. Dubai - wow that place is expanding at an amazing pace, and those buildings... sheesh!
8. Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany - I'm sure this is where Snow White lived!
9. Machu Picchu - I'm fascinated by ancient history and it's ruins.
10. Australia's Gold Coast - well it is just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away but I can't surf darn it!
Guess that's enough for now. This is where I get VERY attached to my computer - all these wonderful places in one place at the same time almost instantly to peruse, and without the huge price tag lol. Hmmm where shall I go tomorrow? That's just a small list of some of the places I've always dreamed of visiting. :o:eek:
The score part doesn't seem to be hot topic any more... but I will still tell as I had been so patient in taking that quiz... :)... it was 7/10 and he rightly called me a geography monster... next time give me a maths quiz and I may score better... :)...
I took this too a few days ago, but I have to tell you all, Mexico is my favourite by far. I am going next July for two weeks (yes finally scraped the money together) and I will be sure to show you all pics when I get back. In the meantime, frangy, Google QUERETERO. That's where I will be staying.
1. Took myself on my first overseas trip to Malaysia and Singpore when I was 17... they have orchids dipped in gold that some friends I made at the time gave me. Nice memories.
2. USA - might get there one day
3. With you on the Irish landscape, Mopar... and the accent! My father's family were originally from Ireland, so I have other reasons for wanting to see it.
4. I've always wanted to go the Greek Islands ever since reading a Lawrence Durrell novel when I was 17... still haven't got there yet. Love those white washed houses overlooking the ocean too.
5. yep. The colours. The culture. The romance.
6. apparently being in Egypt is like having mystical experience no amount of photos can recapture
7. Dubai? Yeah... whoa! Got to see that one day.
8. Germany... that whole part of Europe is lush and picturesque, isn't it? Would love to see Austria too and for some silly reason I promised my daughter we'd both go there one day... from a conversation we had when we found her an Austrian ballgown for her babie doll.
9. Oh yeah! Ancient ruins... lost cities... questions with incomplete answers...
10. You know, I've never been there. Love Australian beaches though... they would have to be the best. Where else could you eat your dinner off the sand in places if you wanted? You don't actually have to know how to surf, Mopar. But there is nothing like swimming in the ocean... :)
