Maybe check with friends and neighbors that have pets and see if they will pay you to walk their pets. I know people that actually run a business walking dogs. You could possibly even come up with some other ideas on things to do with pets that would make money like bathing them or baby sitting them.

This won't work I have a pet and she is protective and won't let me do anything with other pets!

With walking pets you don't have to bring them to your house.

I know but my dog will smell the dog on me and freak out even if I just pet the animals she freaks even when I go to my horse back riding lessons she flips and no one in my neighbor hood really have pets that I know of

Wow that's a bad case of jealousy.

Ask around for odd jobs like washing lawn furniture, washing cars inside and out (mine needs that desperately), vacuuming them out, helping plant flowers, digging dandelions, pulling grass and weeds around flagstones, washing toys, mopping floors for elderly neighbors or relatives, cleaning their bathrooms, washing woodwork. Come to my house; I'll keep you busy.

A bad case indeed but I have jealousy to my brother he is 14 and getting a job and I am REALLY jealous (this is not why I want to get a job) is there anything else you can think of?

What I suggested will fill up your summer. Start asking around and making deals with people. Jobs will not drop into your lap.

I'm shy and I don't feel comfortable with asking people if I can do stuff I don't want to keep turning you down like this and I know I must seem mean but I am really a kind person these soulotions just won't work for me though

Well, I think it's time to stop being shy, especially if you are as tall as you say you are.

Would your mom pay you for doing extra stuff around the house?

She used to but now she doesn't I can't not be shy cause I don't have much self confidence:(

I used to also clean house and iron clothes and wash toys and do other odd jobs for people I sat for. Yeah! Give it a try! Maybe she wants the upper cabinets cleaned out and needs a tall person for that. Maybe she needs someone to wash walls in the bathroom or the kids' room and needs a tall person on a ladder for that. First make a list of job possibilities to suggest to her when you see her.

Kk ill think about I see her everyday after school cause I have to pass her house to get to mine and she is always sitting outside

She will think you are very grown up if you are well-prepared. Also, talk with her about what the different jobs would be worth.

Well I'll go ask her today and I'll post the results here OK?

    Hi, puppy_dog501!

If you have a lack of self-confidence, there is an activity that I like to do with people on this site that might help you with that. If you're interested in finding out what it is and participating in it, please let me know on this thread.

    Thanks!

Clough sorry I couldn't reply so soon but I would like to know what you are talking about and I would be grateful if you could help me with my self-confidence!

Thank you for telling me that. Is there other work you can do for her or for neighbors/relatives/family friends? I have a ton of work at my house that I would pay you to do--washing woodwork, cleaning the bathroom sink until it shines, folding clean clothes, weeding in our big back yard, clipping shrubs. What time will you get here?

    Hi again, puppy_dog501!

What it is, is learning how to write the lyrics to a song and have it set to music. You would even be able to hear what it sounds like!

Even if you've never done that kind of thing, I can show you how!

    Thanks!

How about a paper route? No talking involved, just going door to door delivering papers.

How is that lyrics thing supposed to help me?
  • May 24, 2009, 06:11 PM

It could help you with your self-confidence because you would really be accomplishing something that you could enjoy!

    Thanks!

Well last night me and my mom agreed that if my dad bought my a guitar for my birthday then she would pay for guitar lessons. Would the same thing apply?

    Hi again, puppy_dog501!

So, what sort of things do you really like or are interested in?

Knowing about those things can help us to come up with a subject and ideas for lyrics.

    Thanks!

    One more thing...

It can help to be inspired, although it's not all that necessary.

    Thanks!

Then, how about we try the song writing thing? You could write a song about how you feel about music.

    Thanks!
