Dog walking, lawn mowing, weeding, helping someone with housecleaning.
Please post each question ONCE, please.
Thank you.
Hi, JameJame!
Is there a particular reason that you're needing money, please?
Thanks!
Like I said on one of her other threads, asking the same question.
Dog walking.
Lawn mowing.
Paper route.
I did mention babysitting in her other thread, but on that one she didn't mention that it wasn't allowed.
Hi again, JameJame!
Is your mother around?
Thanks!
After being given instructions by a relative or neighbor --
Pull weeds in the yard, under bushes, etc.
Wash or clean lawn furniture.
Polish silver.
Do light housework.
Help with laundry.
Weed the garden.
Wash cars, vacuum them, wash windows on both sides, clean mirrors.
Help kids clean up their bedrooms (the mom is at home).
This is what my kids and my neighbors' kids did when they were your age.
Why I can't get a job at 11
A very good question, seriously. There shouldn't be a such thing as a legal working age, nor a "permit to work"--you may have to get one of those from your high school when you become a teenager. It's garbage. It should be the employer's decision whether your fit to work, not the state's.
I went for my frist job at 14--wrangling shopping carts and bagging groceries, which, even an 11-year-old can do--but I couldn't because in that same year my state made the legal working age 16. Ya I got paid and liked the cash, but most importantly I made a lot of friends and loved going to work because of that.
I digress. So, with the occupational protection given to you by the state that you never asked for, your only options are working privately and most likely solitarily: so cutting lawns, babysitting, paper-route, that sort of stuff.
Good luck!
I once offered a neighbor boy the opportunity to help me to move paving bricks around in my yard. I offered him five cents for every brick that he moved. He declined though, because he wanted to help me because of just being my neighbor.
That was very noble of him to do that. However, I just wanted to point out that short-length types of jobs can be found for youngsters in many places, especially from friends and neighbors, if they look and ask about them.
Thanks!
The child labor laws are in effect due to schooling requirements and insurance claim info - nobody is attempt to be "mean." Quite the contrary -
And rules regarding insurance claims, insurance requirements, and for that matter, insurance companies to operate in a given jurisdiction, and schooling requirements are all based off law. So they fix it with more law.
The point being is the actual interest of the kids and what they want is never accounted for.
This is a legal argument - kids want to drive cars at 14 and drink at 14 and do.. whatever... at 14. There are reasons for the law. I have done any number of liability investigations involving under-age employees.
Life is not about getting what you want at 11, unfortunately.
Certainly some under age "children" are more sensible and responsible than others. I have no idea about this person.
Hi again, JameJame!
Are there any types of things that you're particularly good at doing, like in school or maybe by taking lessons doing them? Also, do you have any brothers or sisters, please?
Thanks!
My niece got a part time job in a flower shop when she was 12. Maybe there's something like that?
I wish you luck finding something.
