    Reloaded Windows now no internet?
    I Reloaded Windows last night with Win XP Pro Service pack 2. [I was able to access the net before] After loading windows I can't get on the net. I have a version of bootable pen drive Linix that I have on a jump drive that CAN go on the net. I am sure it is a windows setting. Does anyone got any ideas? I am going through a router but even if I bypass it still the same.

    Well, the obvious questions are:
    1. Are the drivers loaded for your network adapter?
    2. Is the network adapter's IP settings configured correctly?

    It turns out that it was the driver I needed but I thought I ruled that out when I could run Linux but not windows. I installed a old network card in my PC, windows could connect with that one fine. I am having a hard time finding the driver for that original network connection. It is connected right to my motherboard what is the easiest way to find it??

    Linux drivers are Linux drivers. Windows drivers are Windows drivers. If Windows doesn't natively include the necessary driver for a particular device, the driver must be manually loaded after finishing Windows setup when doing a manual install. Actually, when doing a reinstall, it's always best to check the manufacturers' sites for the latest driver for all devices even if Windows includes a driver.

    Drivers for integrated adapters are generally supplied by the motherboard vendor and are available on the vendor's website or on a CD that came with the board. Also, a motherboard chipset driver is typically required to be installed first before any other drivers so that all the motherboard based devices will be recognized properly.
