The Cross of Lorraine newspaper was edited by James M. Cain for the 79th Infantry Division during WW1.
The 79th Division was generally north and east of Paris near Argonne. I would like to find copies of the newspaper.

Monty, the Cross of Lorraine newspaper was an underground newspaper. I don't think it is likely you will find copies, normally they were destroyed as soon as read because it was published by the french resistance. Any information in it would have been a death knell to its contributors and publishers by the German occupation.
Tick
What you say may be the case, but I do know that James M. Cain's copy of the final issue is bound and is selling for $9500. He was the editor right near the end of the war, so there may be copies out there. My
Understanding is that the paper was used to give the soldiers of the 79th Division recognition for their
Courage.
