Can you press your "start" button and see the command "run"?

Try typing control in that box and hit enter. That should give you control panel.

    ChihuahuaMomma

I was in the control panel... none of the things that you listed are in the control panel.

If you right click it and choose properties it should tell you if it is working or not. It should be under the "general" tab. You might have to go through all of them and check to see if the system actually sees them as "working".

I don't have right click... remember the issue with the mouse...
  • Mar 4, 2011, 05:31 PM

Do you have a mouse to plug into a port ? Or a memory stick ?
  • Mar 4, 2011, 05:43 PM
    ChihuahuaMomma

no. I can plug in my mp4 player...
  • Mar 4, 2011, 05:46 PM
    cdad

Ok. Before you do that lets try something real quick. Colapse the tree your on. Highlight The "universal Serial Bus Controllers".

Then your going to need to right click.

To right click with a keyboard hold down the "shift" key and then press F10.

A box should open. Highlight scan for hardware changes and press enter.

In that same place "device manager" you should be able to check on your touchpad and buttons.

Let me know if you need help.

Not always. If the laptop has a third-party utility then it won't always be listed in device manager. I recently worked on one that wasn't listed under device manager or anything until I downloaded the touchpad utility...
