Painting Pre-Catalyzed waterbased epoxy over oilbased paint
I have a house where I am re-painting the crown. Right now the crown has Pratt and Lambert oil based eggshell paint on it from 1992. I have wiped it down with waterbased deglosser cleaner. What I need to know is if I can spray Sherwin Williams Pre-Catalyzed waterbased epoxy directly on it without using a primer and will it stay on?

You need to prime with a water based primer first. Latex paint will not adhere to oil based paint.
