    Crack in corian
We have corian countertops and now have a crack in the sink which is one continuous flow from countertop. All one piece. The crack goes all the way through and it leaks to the underneath. The crack is about 12 inches long. Does anyone know if this can be repaired or will we have to replace countertop?

It can be repaired and will look good as new. I had a crack in mine, and the fellow that originally built and installed mine came and repaired it. I could not ever tell there was a crack in it.

He is right, corian can be fixed by a corian installer, and you'll never notice the crack after he's done. But make sure you use a corian installer to fix it

    Knot Hole
Corian is manufactured by DuPont. Fabricators of Corian must be certified. The material has a 10 year warranty. If you are sure it is Corian, no problem contact the fabricator. Other solid surface materials differ in regards to warranty support.
My first question is why the crack? Sounds like an Intergal Sink application. Could be very tricky to solve in place.

Knot Hole is correct about the warranty. If the countertop is less than 10 years old, call DuPont at 800-4-CORIAN to file a warranty claim. They will ask for proof of purchase.

Warranty service won't be provided if the damage was caused by customer abuse.

Cracks in the flat countertop surface can be repaired. On the other hand, cracked sinks should be replaced. A good repair specialist can replace a sink without removing the countertop, and the result will be as good as new. You can see photos of the process on my website:

It is repairable!Did they leave you the sink cut out?I leave the sink cut out just in case a repair is needed for color matching. Most Corian fabricators will leave the cut out.If they didn't,its still repairable, however it may have a slight shade in color.Where do you live?Find out your local Corian shop and call them.I am in Rockland County,NY.Write me if I can help you more and good luck!
