In dec my work comp ins was due . Iwas out of town , my ins agent did not try to call my busniss or me 4 days later an emploree of mine was in an acentdent was injured . My ins agent told me sorry your ins was canceled.I was out of town my agent has my bus. Phone my cell phone #s what can I do

I don't think there is much you can do! When Dealing with Workers comp they are very by the book and don't make many allowences! If the Employee was injured before your insurance was canceled than he was covered but it he got injured after it was canceled than I think you are screwed! Workmans comp is not a bill to forget!

I don't agree, it depends on the insurance company, there should be a grace period here and I think it would be very hard to cancel your policy for 4 days late payment when contact was not made with you. I would go to the Department of Insurance website for your state and look up the laws on that.

Well just remember all insurance co. are pure evil and will use all evil means (lawyers) to deprive you of any kind of coverage that you paid for.

That's a ridiculous statement and totally untrue, insurance companies have to follow strict guidelines set forth by the DOI and there are bad faith laws. I'm sure the issue will be addressed properly by your insurance.

Many people confuse life insurance with grace periods into other insurance. Most insurance does not have "grace" periods, you are insured from date A to date B not one minute past the end date.

You would have gotten a statement long before the insurance was due, and even a couple statements. Your agent does not get notices until you don't pay.

So you get your check book out and pay for all of the injury of your employee, and make sure you have a office manager or someone doing your office work and pay your insurance premiums farther ahead.
