I don't know what you mean by insurance on your pitbull. Do you mean do you need insurance in the event your dog injures someone?

The requirement varies but, yes, your mobile home park could require it.

You are financially foolish if you don't have insurance. You could lose everything, particularly because pits are considered a dangerous breed. I work on dog bites all the time (I'm a liability investigator) and I see people sued all the time.

Homeowners is difficult to obtain with a dangerous breed dog so you're going to have to shop around.

I will add that I don't believe pits in general are a dangerous breed. I had a rott and had a terrible time finding homeowners insurance. Unfortunately insurance is based on the number of claims and the breeds of the dogs involved.

You do not "have" to have it unless the mobile home park requires it. But then, do you have 10,000 or so in the bank to write a check when the dog bites or scratches someone ?

Or worst case and he does serious injury to a child, maybe 300,000 or more.

And remember since it is a pitbull, people will be ready to sue and courts ( esp a jury) will be ready to convict for owning what is considered a dangerous animal.
