    Reversing the batteries did not work for me. I did all this plus pushed the reset button and still says low battery.

    Verify your battery voltage.
    I wouldn't try reversing, although it appears to work for many. I think just pressing the buttons with the batteries removed would discharge the internal capacitor. Some electronics have a protect diode to protect from reverse polarity, and can damage? My Opinion?
