We can't be certain that it even has a flame sensor since the OP didn't offer any real information. Could have a thermocouple or *shudder* a smart-valve.
If it does have a flame sensor then the burners would lit but quickly go out. A dirty/faulty sensor will not prevent the unit from firing, only from sustaining the ignition.
