They one deal in provable facts and best interest of the child. So the fact that she started out by asking questions isnt a surprise to me. I do know well enough that it wasnt a solicitation for gossip. There are so many things that can make a difference when apllying for custody it may surprise you. Sometimes asking the questions is more like having the doctor poke the sore you have and then asking if it hurts.

    BTW welcome to AMHD.

Wow! I believe that is how I stated my first response. Everything comes so quick and too many post get jumbled together! First, I went over this site a very long time. The first thing I realized is I wasn't going to go into great detail about the mother. That is irrelavant! I only wanted to know how to help my son. I knew... and didn't want legal advise. I was only hoping to maybe find someone with a similar problem. We have more than enough money to take that child... that is not our goal. Children need Both parents. We just want to make sure that our son... the father... has a chance!

But you cannot say I am dealing with any attorneys. Just people "volunteers" giving their own opinion...good or bad! Not unlike myself...........! So far, YOU have been the only barer of any kind of usable information.

First, one does not have to be an attorney to know the law or to give legal advice. We do have attorneys here who give advice. But we also have a number of other people who hae a great deal of knowledge and experience that allows them to provide usuable advce.

Sorry again... this message board is somewhat different... anyway... Yes! Like I said, take advice as it comes. But I WILL have a problem with any posts I may come across that I believe to be "leading" one way or the other! This site may have people with experience and great advice... I don't think you have to tell people you're "gonna leave someone homeless" to give good advice. One may not be swearing or using vulgar language... to me this is far worse... don't you think? Read my posts again... maybe I came across in the same way I think twink came across.. Maybe!

Why would you have problems with posts that may be heading somewhere you don't want to go? Sorry if people tell you things your don't want to hear, but the simple fact of the matter is that everyone posting here knows more about this than you do and until you started attacking people, were trying to help you understand where you and your son stood.

You want to know what the 'deal' is? Your son needs to file for joint custody. There really isn't any more to it than that.

Your first question is should you get a lawyer. Yes. You should. If you didn't want the opinions of people that are not lawyers, you shouldn't have asked. If you want the opinion of only lawyers, go pay lawyers to give you advice.

This is SO typical! A member comes on here And says thanks for "ANY" info about their question. They proclaim they have no idea how to deal with the issue. But when someone asks for more info to help or gives advice they don't want to hear, all of a sudden they know what info is needed to help and/or what is good and bad advice.

They strike out at people trying to help them by hurling insults. And when that doesn't work they try knocking this site as well. Then storm off in a huff.

This site has a very good reputation and we guard it as well as we can. People tried to help you and that you got the info you asked for. If you can't appreciate that, then please don't return.

And, I will NOT say that the above mention poster isn't posting stuff that I don't agree with. But you cannot say I am dealing with any attorneys. Barer of information?

On how are you determining who is or is not an Attorney? People on this site are Attorneys, para professionals, people who do great research, people with experience.

If you want public opinion or a discussion board, you really should be posting somewhere else.

Everyone here started as strangers and earned his/her stripes. You are the one asking the question, with the problem, confronting the very people who are trying to help you.

If your attitude carries over into Court I see a big problem.
