Proper Attire for Mother of Graduate
What do I wear to my son's college graduation which is being held at 12:00 noon in a huge indoor facility?

There will be many graduating at that time. As I found out a few years ago, anything goes, you won't be called to participate so just dress comfortably, but if you intend having pics taken, wear a suit, or a nice dress and jacket.

Graduations usually involve long periods seated in portable chairs. To look good for pictures I agree with a nice jacket over something subdued and comfortable. The jacket can be removed and kept fresh and put on afterwards.

I love jmjoseph's response! In my family we would call this kind of outfit "church clothes" - a daytime dress, skirt and sweater, dress slacks and a blazer or things of that nature. Definitely not jeans. I've seen the full gamut at graduations from sweatpants to evening gowns but a lot of it wasn't appropriate!
