Yep, you can. Are you enrolled in or taking any acting classes to break the ice there? Go for it. I know someone who went to a therapist in addition to taking classes whether it was to help with her shyness or fear of certain acting aspects.

Do you know yet that you can tap into feelings in various ways? Some of it can actually come from what things ly behind the shyness.

How old are you? If you are still in school does your school have a drama department? If you are no longer in see if there are volunteer repertory companies in your area that you can audition for.

    Hi, lollylegs_leslie!

A lot of actors and actresses are people whom you might consider to be shy in real life. However, give them a role and to be entertaining in front of people, it's like another part of them comes out!

I'm that kind of person as well as actor.

    Thanks!

In my area there are organizations (churches, community centers, etc) that put on plays. I would also be surprised if your school doesn't have a drama club if not a drama dept. If it doesn't talk to someone in the arts or music dept about starting one.

    Okay. You've started the thread.

Please realize, that it's very, very late for me. So, I'm not thinking as clearly as I could be right now.

In what country are you located, please?

    Thanks!

If you really want to get into acting, then being able to sing and dance will open up even more possibilities for you.

Do you have music and drama at the school that you attend?

    lollylegs_leslie

Yeah but I more into acting not musical theretr

Singing and dancing isn't just for the musical theater for actors and actresses.

Think of some of the most famous actors and actresses and what they can or could do on the stage and/or in a movie.

Can't or couldn't a lot of them also sing and dance?

    What do you mean

More serious plays and comedies that involve the most accomplished actors and actresses will frequently have, not all the time and not in all of the productions, some singing and simple dancing in the productions.

Frequently, those types of organizations that do those productions have the name Guild as part of the name.

To be a well-rounded actress, available for a variety of roles where you might make some income, it's good to be open to as many types of acting as you can.

Some actors and actresses do specialize, but in order to work, they sometimes need to branch out.

A question that I've already asked:

    Quote:

Do you have music and drama at the school that you attend?

    Yes I do

I would suggest getting involved with those types of classes. You could even form, with the help of other friends and teachers, a theater group that could meet before or after school.

Now, I'm starting to turn into a pumpkin!

I really need to get to sleep!

I look forward to discussing about this with you at a later time! I'm usually on here starting at about five or six hours before the time that it is now. Although tomorrow, I'll need to get to bed considerably earlier than this because I need to get up to play for my church job as organist/pianist on Sunday.

    Thanks!

How to get into acting for the first time
I am interested in acting but I have no experience what so ever. I have heard it can take up to years to start becoming a part of feature films. Do I have to wait that long and does anyone have any tips on how to get started etc.

The problem is, is that starting in a different forum topic area probably won't get you any different people answering. The numbers of members who have a lot of performing arts experience are few. Questions like this will tend to attract the same members.

The first one that you started has not yet been archived. That means that it's still on the currently active threads list. If it were to ever be closed, I would probably be the one to do it since I moderate that forum topic area.

I responded to you again on it, yesterday. It would be okay to continue on it.

    Thanks!
