Honestly, with the amount of time that has passed your chance of a successful recovery are virtually nil.

Have you checked on the mail server to see if there's a copy stored there ?

I was always under the impression web mail was not saved! But Outlook is not web mail it is a client of Microsoft. I had an issue about 6 months ago where I helped a friend ry and retrieve her dleted emails from a third-party client that was through outlook express. The email host was a small company called squirrelmail that goes through outlook to run, I had called the IT Director for sqiurrelmail and he told me they save email directories for 6 months. I am not sure if this is true or not!

Are the messages in the Deleted Items folder? If yes, you can by viewing that folder. If you deleted everything from the Deleted Items folder, then like Curlyben said, they are probably gone.

We've discussed that already, of course if there in your delete folder then you can view them.

We have came to the conclusion that webmail does not but does clientel email services?

If u had "shift+delete" your mails then u can retrieve your mails through this method.
    1. Go to Run by clicking on Start and type in regedit.

    2. Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, expand Software.

    3. You will find Microsoft there. Expand Microsoft.

    4. Expand exchange and then client.

    5. You will find Options there. Right click on Options, choose New and click on D Word Value.

    6. Now right click the new Dword Value and rename it to DumpsterAlwaysOn.
    Note: This is case sensitive.

    7. Right click on the DumpsterAlwaysOn and modify the Value data to 1 and click on OK.
When you type 1, this means the Recovery deleted Item is on. Also 0 to turn it off.

    8. Now open Outlook and click on Tools.

    9. Choose 'Recovery Deleted Items'.

WOW, I didn't know of that, very good advice. So that will recover deleted emails? If so how long (for up to X many months)?

I hate to be a kill joy on this, but a few things concerning this method:

    • ONLY works with M$ Outlook on Exchange and NOT Outlook Express
    • ONLY works when the Deleted Items folder is NOT used
    • Doesn't work with items removed from the Deleted Items folder, when it's emptied
    • Also advising "hacking" the registry can be fraught with dangers and is best avoided.

    Hello Curlyben,
1st point of yours is correct, it works on Exchange and not on express. But 2nd and 3 rd are not. I always use this method with my deleted items folder in use, and for the 3rd point, I've already mentioned that if the mails are shift + deleted then you can recover them by this method. 4th one I'm not known to it, so thanks for the knowledge.
    Really appreciate.
