KISS - I understand your response, but I seriously doubt that Christine will be able to either follow it or understand it. Christine does not have an electrical background.
Christine,
Please use the "Answer this Question box to send us your replies, not the "Agree" box.
The test points are for voltage readings, not amperage. Amperage is difficult to get because you would have to be, "In series" with the conductors.
The way I would make the tests would be to start at test point #1. Black on one of the Neutral (Green) return. If necessary, you could also use the bare metal of the tanning bed's frame. The Red probe would then go to a connection point for the wires.
At test point 1, if there is no voltage, back up and go to the "L1" pin and retest. If there is voltage, then go to the bottom left of the schematic. Again the black probe goes to either the frame or Neutral. The red probe will go to the test point (first test point 2). If there is voltage, then I suspect that something in the new parts you purchased is either defective or mismatched.
If there is no voltage go to the second test point 2. If there is no voltage there, continue backwards along the red line until you find voltage. The failing component will be in front of the failure.
What you are looking for is a ruptured conductor, bare wire or a bare wire near a burn mark. And so on.
