Your puppy is 6 weeks old, it's fine to bathe him.

The only thing that would put me off bathing such a young pup is that he might get cold. Only use a shampoo that is for dogs, don't use too much of it and make sure you rinse very thoroughly. Then dry with a towel as best you can and ensure he is kept warm until he is dry. Reward pup for tolerating his bath with praise and even if he will take them, a few treats. He may be frightened by his first bath so be patient and don't string it out, get him in, clean and out as quickly as you can.

I bathed Taffy at five week old mainly because she was a rescue (had just brought her home) and covered in fleas, and their dirt, in a warm room, I think I used baby shampoo (l0 years ago) and she turned out fine, wasn't traumatized at all.

Your pup doesn't have to be completely bathed if you feel it would harm her. A sponge bath would do as well. Keep the washcloth just for her.
