How do I get my puppy to stop peeing in the house?
My labrador/australian shepard mix puppy (9 weeks old) was just brought home 4 days ago. He is not shy any more, but he likes to pee EVERYWHERE around the house. When I take him outside, he does not pee. And he starts barking and whinning really loudly when I put him in a crate. Does nuertering him help??

Neutering will not help. That will only prevent getting a female pregnant.
You will have to train him. This will be time consuming. The best thing to go is have a closed off area (bathroom as an example) and put a child's safety gate. In the bathroom you need to place puppy pads. Arm and hammer are good. Leave him there for periods at a time for him to pee on the pad. When he does.. reward him. Praise him and give him a treat. After a couple of weeks move the pad closer to the door.

Then place it in the hallway and then in front of the front door as the weeks go by.

I would also suggest you take him out for a walk in the early morning out to the front and place a pad down. Seems silly I know but once he is a few months and has all his shots then walk him.

I got our puppy at 8 weeks. At 11 weeks he was peeing and pooping on the pad. The first thing in the morning when everyone gets up we put him down. Walks are in the afternoon and he won't go poo, only pee.

Dogs are real smart. You have to put the time, that's all. Mine at 8 months sat, rolled over, fetched and lets us know when he is hungry.
I've trained him to wait for his food as well and to wait at the door when guest knock.

    Good luck to you.

Oh also.. if you see him starting to squat or life leg pick him up quickly and put him on the pad. He will associate.

Also it would be good to clean his potty spots with a good quality cleaning agent that can remove enzymes! You might notice him favoring particular spots. Those have been red flagged to his little nose as his bathooms.

Yes , good point. There are great natural products and sprays for this.
