    I like the idea of planting a tree in her name.

    I'm sorry for your loss and that you had to go through this. Unfortunately, it's part of loving a pet.

    As Alty was right it was so worth having her in my life and I know that's part of loving a pet

    When my dog died and I was lost in my grief my Vet said there are two choices in life:

    1 - To love and outlive a dog;
    2 - To never love the dog.

    I decided #1 was the better choice.

    I'm so sorry for your loss Clare. Let yourself cry over this, but also let yourself smile at the memories you had with Simba. She was a very lucky dog to have someone like you care for her.

    I lost 2 dogs within 5 months of each other. My old dog Indy died shortly before Christmas, then 5 months later, only 3 months ago actually, our dog Jasper suddenly became very ill and also passed away. Both of those dogs were euthanized to spare them the pain and suffering they were going through. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but I know it was the right thing.

    Simba understands. All dogs go to Heaven. Simba is there now, and she'll be waiting for you when it's your time, a long long long long time from now. :)

    In kiswhili (the language we speak where I live) simba means lion. And she had the lions courage. My parents were surprised she had not died earlier. She was born 1997 December. So she was a really old dog
