I wonder that too.

My kids are allowed on the internet, with my supervision. I have access to everything they view or join. They have to ask me before they can sign up for anything, and even my son, who is almost 14, asks every single time.

Between the two of them they spend less than 1 hour a week on the computer (for fun, not homework). But to be fair, that's probably because I'm on the computer talking to all of you. ;)

No idea a newbie to this site so don't hate!! Hopefully he or she found the proper treatment and hope his dog did not die!

I had an idea just thought hopefully he/she would have found out by now and I would have given advice but like you said the blog is months old! Thought this was written in August! Just found this blog yesterday and clicked, responded without knowing when it was written!

I don't think gatorade is good for a dog. I would give him ice water.

The trained experts on this site - as well as my personal Veterinarian - do not agree with you. I trust you read the question before answering. It would appear that the OP did not have a lot of options here. Also note that this was posted in May.

What are your qualifications?

You state that you "don't think gatorade is good for a dog". Well, I didn't have to think about it, because I know. Gatorade is fine for a dog, and can save the life of a dog that's severely dehydrated. Pedialyte is better, but gatorade is cheaper, and does work.

Ice water will do nothing. In fact, ice water is a horrible idea. Lukewarm water would be better, but water alone for a dehydrated dog will not rehydrate. The dog would not survive if it's severely dehydrated and only given water.

But, I'd love to see your source. Or did you just want to post something and didn't want to bother doing any research?

My 10 year old knows that ice water for a dog that's sick, throwing up, dehydrated, is not okay. In fact, if you asked her, she'd know exactly what to do. She'd recommend pedialyte and the vet.

But then again, she wants to be a vet when she grows up. That's been her dream for 5 years now. I think it's a great plan. She's promised me free vet care. :)

LOL! I just did. Her response "Sure, but she'll have to come to Canada, and I want to see puppy pictures".

She's definitely smart enough to do it. She has the passion. She knows as much about bunnies as I do.

But, she is only 10. Dreams change. Then again, she's had this dream for half her life now, and never wavered. Maybe she'll actually do it. I sure hope so. I could us free vet care from someone I trust.
