Is there someone you (and Gigi) trust that can come in a couple of times tomorrow while you are at work, just to check on things and make sure Gigi is nursing. This weekend should be a good gauge time for you. Gigi will catch on in the next couple of days. She just needs a little help right now. And, try to allow her some alone time with her pups. Obviously they need to be used to humans, but too much hanging over her at this stage can cause her to get a little panicky.

Thanks for the advice. I will go by Books-a-Million and try to find something to help. As for your statement of it being a BIG mistake by not having a dog neutered by 6 months... we were told by the vet that we could not have him neutered UNTIL he turned 6 months (big difference in waiting UNTIL then having him neuter BEFORE 6 months as you suggested). Yes, we waited until he was a little over 7 months, but it took 2 weeks to get him on the schedule and when I called to set up the appointment I asked (since he was over 6 mths) if he could get GiGi pregnant before his surgery and was told NO, he was too young. I took the advice of a trained professional and things didn't work out like we planned. That is life, it happens, you deal and move on. Your comment upsets me because it is like saying the puppies are a mistake and they certainly are not. They are beautiful and sweet and already loved! I am not selling any of them, but giving them to friends and family members that I know will take excellent care of them!

I do appreciate your advice and you have been a GREAT help to me and MANY other people on this forum, but for some reason any time someone writes about their pet being pregnant, you act offended and make the owners feel bad about the pregnancies. I know that there are a lot of people out there that do not take care of their animals and that a lot of puppies are left to wander the streets. I also know that there are dogs that need homes at rescue shelters and that you are very passionate about adoption, but you do not have to make me or any other owner feel bad that our dogs have puppies.

Gigi, I know labman is capable of defending himself, but to clarify, it seemed pretty clear to me that he was talking about spaying Gigi at 6 months, not neutering Mack.

You strike me as a very loving and nice person. We get upset because we see so many sweet and wonderful dogs that are euthanized every day for lack of homes. It is very depressing and so incredibly heartbreaking for us. So, please do not take anything we say as a personal attack. It just has become a major issue with us and is one of our personal causes.

I have had a puppy around 3 mnths old die yesterday morning around 9:30 this was an adorible little thing and very very loving his name was osso (called bear) he had the same symptoms as mark had... Now, my other adult dog charlie as well as the other four puppies has been axposed to this virus and the puppies are sick but not Charlie... I have read online that if your doggy is more then 1 year old then you are probably safe but I still think that it should be tested
