    I agree that cottage cheese probably isn't the best additive to a dogs diet due to added calories, unless your dog is ill and needs something that will entice them to eat and get some nourishment. Yogurt is great though. I give it to my cats and my puppy... generally I'll give them a teaspoon or two for a few days until the little container is empty and it'll be a few weeks before I buy another one (plain yogurt, of course). Right now, I have one cat and one puppy receiving some every day because they are also on antibiotics and just like with humans, it helps to replenish the good bacteria as it is destroyed with the medication.

    The only problem with cottage cheese in dog food is that it can cause some gas, which isn't normally a problem for the dog. How sensitive is your nose? Just about any protein you can eat the dog can eat, but beware the other end.
