Buying food is a lot easier and often cheaper than making your own.

I went through a phase of making my dogs food, I got meat, veggies, rice, pasta etc etc and cooked it all up but I was always worried they weren't getting everything they needed, plus all those ingredients ended up being quite costly.
These days I just feed store bought food, much easier and the dogs like it.

I make their cookies, but not the actual food.
It seems cost effective for the cookies and they love them.

I think store bought pet food is a good idea. As long as it's a good brand.

    Good Luck

Oh yeah, home-made cookies and treats are great, I'm just a bit lazy on that front and buy cookies from the store :o

I don't want to know about cookies made in her bathroom. Krismom, the websites those recipes are on have dozens of others, some even for puppies.
