No one has to endure abuse of any kind and I do feel your pain. The only reason I'm still with mine is because we have a child together and I won't leave him with her for too long.

Just remember "Filter & Focus"! Filter out her abuse & Focus on making a better life for YOURSELF!!

Another trick, have a file started with the police then tell her off. when she takes a swing, make sure she leaves a mark then have her charged. Peace bond should follow. Just stand up for yourself!!!!

I know a little bit about common law in Canada - which Province?

My concern with this post is exposing a child to this type of relationship - I do not want my children to witness an abusive relationship.

This is crazy... Kinglash, you could be telling my story, except I am REALLY STUPID. I hung around for 9 years. Then our daughter was born, and it got really bad! Plus I was stuck as our little girl now 11 (that makes it a total of 20 years of this crap - I am one masochistic frog!! ) depends on me to keep her life stable and happy.

I'm getting out with daughter... NOW. I'm feeling better just having decided, and hope to keep that resolve strong, its going to be hard with all the mind games that will be played by the succubus.
