    High Pitched Whine
I have a very perculiar problem with a computer I gave to a customer. It makes a very high pitched whining noise. It's not very loud, just loud enough to get hella annoying after a half an hour or so. I discovered that by unplugging the sound jack for the internal speakers from the back the noise get softer but is definitely still there. If I touch the sound jack to any metal part of the computer the sound gets louder again and if I unplug the speakers from power the sound gets very soft but is still there. In fact if I unplug EVERYTHING from the computer except the motherboard and ram it STILL makes the noise just very faintly. Has anybody else heard of this problem. The biggest issue is that I can't really go in and test too much because the customer really needs it. They aren't to concerned about it because with all the noise going on in their workshop downstairs it is unnoticable with the speakers turned right down. It would be nice to do something about it if anybody knows the solution though.

    Thanks in advance

If you ask me, it sound like a bad or failing power supply.
