I would just pick up the phone, start of with casual conversation... hi just wandered how you were etc...

You will be able to pick up a lot by his general tone of voice, it may be he's been waiting for you to call, you don't have to make the first move at this time, that could come a bit later.

In fact it could work better for you, he may be attracted to you more when he hears your voice and will feel the urge to call you next time.

Texting is so cold, there's nothing personal going on, messages can often be misunderstood... so pick up the phone and go for it, what's the worst that could happen!.

When I first met him, he asked for my number. Later in the night I got his. I told him to call me. The next day I text him first later in the day.

We don't text everyday. In fact, it's been 2 days since we last did. I am the one who texts first. I should've told my story with more detail. I start the text-convo, he ends it.

So let me rephrase my question, how do I know if this guy is interested if 1.) I told him to call and 2.) We only text each other? He did mention a couple of times that he would like to take me out. Then again that was through a text.

Btw, I haven't called him because I want him to make the first move.

Then stop. No more texts. Will he text you to find out if you are still alive?

If he does text, don't text back. Sit under the bushes with a banana sandwich and a comic book and wait for him to get so panicky with worry about you that he will call. If he's really worried (and interested), he will call. Have a good excuse ready -- "Silly me! I misplaced my phone and finally found it an hour ago." (He won't really care what your excuse is because he's been so worried, but have a good one ready anyway.)
